The 'I can't think of a good name at the moment' Diary

and so it begins.

Hello :)
I would just like to set out my disclaimer before I start. This diary does not promise any life enhancement for the reader whatsoever. However I do expect it to greatly improve mine so there :p

So, I'm Betty Crumble, I am 40 in 2 years time and that is the date i've set my sights on to be a changed woman, although at first glance I know it'll be sooner.
I have 2 children, ds (18) who's lives with the grands and dd (8). Both are amazingly kind, respectfull, intelligent individuals who bring me a great deal of love and joy every day.
I have a stressfull full time job and even though i'm 38 I still have to have an afternoon nap :o

My LBM? 1 week ago when I threw 2 whole portions of my yummy home made Lasagne in the bin. What a waste. And why? because I just didnt forward think and freeze it. Half an hour later I had inventory-an-ised () my cupboards, fridge and freezer. 2 hrs later I had a whole 7 weeks of menu planning done and a shopping list! :T(my list is just for what I need to add for the first 4 weeks of the planner but some of it will extend further) As yesterday was pay day that order will be done today, i'm adding it up to about £40 and I am therefore going to set my Grocery Challenge for August £100.

and breathe.

Sorry if this is a bit higgledy piggledy but I guess at somepoint it will finds its flow.

I have done a prelim SOA but I have a few income changes coming up next month so did not want to set anything in stone but my plans for overpaying and snowballing seems doable. Why am I doing this? Well, I do have money left over each month but I'm afraid that I tend to fritter that away :(My total debt is £9208.14. and I know it doesn't have to be. I am good with budgets and really good at money saving but I also think ive gone too far down the road of 'I deserve a treat' as of late so that stops now.

I have 3/31 NSD's so far and £15.52 Overpay (over my min payment) Ds has a roadkill jar with 11p in and thats just 1 wk :T (thats her domain)

So the juicy bits, amounts owed, yay, NOT!

Capital One 1731.65
Car HP 3720
Car last payment 2900
Very BNPL 458
Isme BNPL 179
Littlewoods 100
Next 89.49

This week I have Made £41.25 from selling and waiting for £70.49 from ebay minus postage. This is going to pay off my Next account.

Right so thats it for now, will attempt my signature later and for those that have snoozed off.....BOO!!! :rotfl:
Anyway have a good day and i'll be back soon.

I still have my head in the sand but over the next few days I will have to extract it and get a grip if this debt is ever going to go away. I will be subscribing to your diary and dropping in now and then if you dont mind :). My intention is that by the time term starts again I will be organised and sorted and moving forward :o. Unfortunately my LBM hasnt happened yet - bit of a flickering candle at the moment and I am hampered by the need to clear the house of junk/clutter before I tackle the filing cabinet ( I know I am just putting it off!) I have joined in some 'fun' things on MSE to keep me focussed. So good luck and hope to drop in again soon

Hello to you too, funny how our treats end up making us sad in the end isn't it, boooo :( Have had a nose at your diary and its very calming if thats makes sense, i like how it doesn't read as you being stressed, a good attitude to have :)

By the way I've done my shopping and its horrifying to see the price changes in one week, I did my list on Monday and with the exception of a couple of offers finishing the majority of the increase in what I thought it would be are price increases, god how I wish I'd started a supermarket chain when I was 15 :D Oh well, I dont expect to use up my £100 so thats a bonus, don't need any cleaning products and unlikely i'll need any toiletries but I didnt want to set a target too low as if i failed it would be demoralising. I am physically going to keep the rest so I'm not trying to keep track of food spends made on a debit card. I do like the envelope system. What I dont spend is going straight on a debt.

Thanks, it is nice and shiny isn't it :D I love your username :)
I seriously need my nap to switch off from work both physically and (more) mentally and have just started taking a tip off one of my friends and that is the minute you get in shower and change into own clothes, it makes switching off a whole lot easier, I used to wait an hour or so but this really works.

I reckon a long soak in the bath does the trick. I'm on a temp. assignment at the mo. but have managed to clear-off 1 credit card, so it can be done.

See if you can get yourself one of those sealed money tins then stick-in any £2.00 coins you come-across. It is amazing just how quickly the amount builds-up.

I would suggest opening an account at Barclays if they have a coin-sorter in-branch, but as I found, it is too tempting to use it for day-to-day things instead of letting it build-up.

Hi, yes i'm afraid you are right there's just always something else to spend that £2 on. I've got a fair few accounts and to be honest i'm looking at closing all but HSBC, they all have different merits (for example you can name the savings accounts on lloyds but not hsbc and so on and so forth) but I really think I just need one or even two but with the same bank. (Gosh I can ramble :o) Thanks for popping in, hope you will again :)
