Have just been looking at the answers to this on the main DFW board and I'm not sure what to add that hasn't been said already.
Will go and have a think.

Good morning all! Have ben awake now for around 2 hours  Why is it when you wake up in the middle of the night your head keeps going over and over the same things, and most of it's a load of drivel (well it is in my small cranium!) when all you really want to do is go back to sleep! The final straw that made me get up was OM's snoring started to sound like a noisy locomotive! So have been watching the dregs of early morning tv, teleshopping channels....wow they are erm "different" hard sell making you wonder how you ever managed without x product...actually one item, "the geniebra" sounds revolutionary and I really do wonder how I am managing without it, a bra that hides back fat, now that is tempting...but no, that's not going to help lower my mounting debts now is it!! Speaking of back fat :o one thing that has been going over and over in my tiny brain while laying in bed next to the high speed london train is my increasing waistline, I'm starting to lose control of my weight again, as well as my finances, always have been a bit of a porker but was going to a slimming club, which although I'd lost nearly 3 stone (had taken 4 years of losing, putting on a bit losing a bit more...the cycle was endless) and was maintaining an unhealthy but slimmer than i am now 10st10ish...(I'm only just 5ft) But since leaving SC and giving up the gym in my "light-bulb moment" I am now topping the scales at a dreadful  stone Sorry I'm so ashamed I can't put it on here...but it's not just a few extra pounds...So in my insomniac moments I have vowed to take control (or at least attempt to) of all aspects of my life, and by confessing and putting them on here I hope it will make me actually do something about it instead of procrastinating and feeling miserable! So my to do list, in no particular order:

Borrow DS wii, I have the biggest loser game (I'm addicted to the programme, watching the australian version, have you seen it?) start a weightloss programme and blooming well stick to it!!
I'm thinking of following a 7 day "chemical diet" just to get me motivated lost 9lbs in a week the last time I did it.....

The other big weight on my heavy shoulders is my house....it's a tiny shoebox and incredibly cluttered and messy, I couldn't have people over, too embarrassed to let the meter reader in it's such a state  I would love to have a home that when I walk in the door, is like the homes you see on tv, homely and tidy, not one that looks like the local rubbish dump, I know it's not just me in this house but I've always been messy/lazy and have taught my son to do the same :( so that's another issue that needs tackling.

The debt issue, now that IS going to take some tackling, I really don't know where to start with that, other than curb my spending and try to make money/pennies selling my toot and doing surveys etc buckle up it's going to be a very bumpy ride.....

Oh dear I've gone off on one again, best and get some imodium for my continuing verbal diarrhoea :(

Am going to put a daily bank balance on here, just thought it might help me get out of my overdraft too so today bank balance is:

    Hello good morning :)
Thinking about things at night when you can't sleep always seems worse than any other time for some reason. I find making lists help - even if I then ignore them :rotfl:
Every journey starts with a single step.
So don't just sit there do something. Anything. Just making a start will give you the oomph (is that a word?) to carry on. I speak from experience here.
I've found that starting to deal with one area of my life means it's far easier to deal with the rest. Despite the debt and being stuck in a place we hate I feel better than I have in a long time. And that's because I'm taking control of my life. No-one else is going to do it for me so if I want things to be different I have to do something.
You have a lot going on so don't expect it all to happen straight away. Just make a start.
I'm here if I can help at all. Send a PM (private message) if you'd rather not post something on here.
Will be thinking about you xx

Actually had a good day today! Went to see my mum and sis with my DS, and we went to see the fun and frivolities of our local folk week, and I managed not to spend a penny!! I can do it, and enjoy myself!! :) I have had days of not venturing out of my house as I just couldn't trust myself not to spend spend spend!! And to top it off my mum, bless her heart gave me £50 she'd won it on the lottery and gave it to me,:grinheart so I'm going to put £20 petrol in my car and the £30 will go towards payment to a CC, it's one small step!
Also bagged up DS bionicles (all in pieces but big bags of it) and lego to do a bootfair, have decided to sort one thing at least a day for the bf.
Made spag bol with mince I'd bought from aldi, £2.99 for 1kg, and made shepherds pie for tomorrow and froze some, in total it will make 9 meals!! Bargain!!
Didn't manage to get the wii out but did walk from mum's to fair and back which was a couple of miles, amazing how quickly you lose any fitness you had when not doing anything for a while :(

Anyway hope you are having a good evening as you are reading this, and good night, and hope tomorrow will be a good day for debt busting!!:A

Had a blip today, went to Aldi to get some milk and groceries, ended up spending £20...bought fizzy pop, peanuts, a bag of sweets crisps and a bottle of cider, now these I know are not necessities, and not making excuses, but I'm going to, my DS was with me, and I feel guilty we aren't doing anything during the hols, to save money (except we are taking him and a friend to thorpe park, it was his birthday last month....but I've managed to get 2 free passes using my clubcard vouchers, just need a bogof voucher...did have one, put it in a safe place...but have forgotten where that safe place was. Doh!!!!:wall:) On a plus note tho, I went to boots and had a £2 advantage card voucher for nice and easy foam hair dye, My grey hairs are getting out of control  it was on offer too, so only cost £2.99! :T

Hi just popped in having found your diary. I dont have any advice and just really stepping out myself - but I have joined some of the more fun forums (like NSD ) to get me started and I am already finding myself thinking 'do I really need/want/use this' and just with that mantra I have already got 8 NSDs out of 14 days :) I too am on a weight reducing quest - I have 4 st to shift  and I have a little mantra for that too :) 'eat less move more' Started that on 1.01.11 and have slowy lost 1.5 st eating what I want but putting a lot more movement in my daily routines ( vigorous vacuuming!) - the weight has stayed off and is gradually reducing :T. Saves money too :rotfl:

Anyway good luck and I will add your diary to my subscribed threads list x

  • Thank you Hovel lady and Igamogam, Well done on your weight loss, your house must be spotlessly clean, How lovely! I think I'll take your advice about the mantras, I have tried in the past, but always completely forget them! Good luck with your weightloss/debt free journey, have you got a diary on here?
HL, thanks for asking, how's things with you? I have been lurking but feeling a bit low and miserable and teary at the mo so didn't want to write about my drivel on here, just feeling sorry for myself as usual! I've been so so bad, over the weekend spent probably £50 (out of my overdraft) over fri/sat/sun buying junk and booze....I'm so fed up with myself :( fed up with the OM as he just makes excuses for not getting a second job, I applied for 3 over the weekend, all horrible but I need to get out of this rut, I'm fed up with never having any money, being in so much debt and living in a messy, damp, horrible shoebox of a house...I've lost friends as I've always had to turn down invites out and the bubbly, confident, happy me has been swapped for this miserable self concious full of doom and gloom fat person....no wonder i've got no mates, I wouldn't want to be around me either!! I feel so stupid a guilty for feeling like this as there are people far, far worse off....
if anyone is still here reading this, I am sorry for my miserable ramblings, will snap out of it soon...promise...hope you are ok and kicking your debts up the a%$*!
    :)
