Just a thought.
yes - I had to put the space in to let me post it on here0 -
i went to tesco yesterday and i had some vouchers with me so i shared them with my mum, i got a couple of boxes of the shreddies and a can of campbells soup
i put the same in my mums basket an told her i had some vouchers she can use (my little brother is going to be staying at hers for a few days, he lives with me usually and eats 2 bowls of cereal a day)
i always go to the same sa as i know she doesnt give me any problems
i went through the till first and my coupons went through fine
then when the sa was scanning my mums coupons she realised that the shreddies was only £1 a box and she panicked and called over her supervisior to check she was allowed to accept them, this poor polish woman had gone red in the face and shaking,
lol the sa obviously doesnt take much notice to my coupons
they took the coupons
i know its not coupon related but there are lots of fruit for 50p a pack in mr t atm including strawberries and mangoesMember #64 £2012 in 2012 challenge total so far: £714.54/£20120 -
Disastorous M's shop last night.
Not because they wouldn't take my coupons, but because they didn't have any of the items I wanted to use my coupons against!
Our local supermarkets are fairly small (small, seaside town)... so they often don't have as big a range as the large, out-of-town stores
I wanted:
Sacla sauces - don't stock them (only the Pesto, and I prefer the M's own brand which is half the price anyway)
Heinz Chilli Ketchup - run out
Carlsberg - only keep the Export so dearer than I wanted
Lotus Biscuits - run out and something else put in their place, despite the shelf edge label still saying that they're on "2 for £1.20"
Plenty - only the 2-roll pack which isn't good value anyway
Aunt Bessies - none of the gravy/stuffing type products
Honey Shreddies - in stock, but £2 a box
Mccain Curly Fries - don't stock
Mccain Steak Chips - don't stock
Curiously Cinnamon - don't stock (used to until at least couple of weeks ago...)
No coupons used! ARGH!!!!
I've only got a half hour window to shop and OH wants M's tiger rolls (really, really nice! especially with soup) so I will have to do M's again tonight :-(Would LOVE to win:
A hamper - any sort! A goody bag - any sort! A UK mini-break. A year's supply of something foodie. Anything Sci-Fi related
2013 wins - Cutting Room book, Rock n Rose necklace, £50 M&S voucher, Greggs coffee, £70 voucher for a Onesie0 -
Said £2 exactly on the SEL - will try them through the till tonight just in case.Would LOVE to win:

I dont believe I've not found this thread before (I was linked to it from another thread I think)
Just wanted to say thank you to all those who contribute, it must be very time consuming to find, log and organise all these coupons!
Im currently enjoying the soup vouchers, but I have not dared to try and buy more than one can at a time. What do you experienced people do? Try and tell whos likely to let you take a few? Engage the assistant in friendly chat? Ask nicely before they have put it through the till? (or is it better to have let them put them through first so they might 'let you off' rather than cancel the sale?)
Any help gratefully received for a coupon novice!:o
It's just hit and miss, I'm afraid! I always used to think that younger SAs didn't seem to care and usually just put coupons through without checking them, whereas the older, trouty looking ones would be very strict - but then at the weekend, I got a young guy SA who was very chatty and I thought "great, I'll have no problems here" but when I gave him my Campbells coupons, he turned into "Mr By-The-Book" and only let me have one! Last night, I got an older lady SA and feared the worst - however, she was delighted when she saw what I was saving and didn't say a word about the amount of coupons!
I always let them scan the items through the till then make sure I'm ready with my answer so that if they say I can only use one, I say "Oh I didn't notice that. I'll just put the rest back as I was only buying them for the sake of using my vouchers - I'll save them for another time" - playing dumb is always best! :rotfl:0 -
Yes i totally agree. People who boast about 20,30 even 50 boxes in one go of the Shreddies for example are taking the " mickey " and its just greed. We could all do that but most dont.
Perhaps all the people who are taking 20 or 30 boxes of shreddies, cans of soup, jars of pasta sauce etc. would like to consider donating some to a food bank ??0 -
i have no idea how ppl are managing to use both coupons on the sacla sauce one is clearly for the sauce and the other is for the rissoto surely this would be classed as miss-use if u havnt bought the risotto sauce then why use the rissoto coupon??best win in 2011:eek: 4 nights in Las Vegas
2011 wins £8,752.000
