When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money:
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning everyone up bright and early this morning

Morning!
Wow La E that is some overtime!
Thanks for starting us off ixia.
I am currently sat at DB2's house using his iPad which I am finding very difficult! Think it's actually easier to post on my phone!!!
This is me today:-
- [STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Go into town for hair cut in a bit, DB2 paying as I drove up here last night to bring his Son up[/STRIKE] :-)
- [STRIKE]Check 'spare' money to see if I can afford to...[/STRIKE]
- ...Buy expensive heat defence stuff, might stop me needing my hair cut every 4 weeks with all the drying and straightening I do :-( - didn't need too! Hairdresser said my hair wasn't as damaged as I was whining about and that it was nothing to worry about
- [STRIKE]Trip to coffee shop we normally do here[/STRIKE] :-)
- [STRIKE]Drive home economically[/STRIKE] Home with 1/2 tank left to spare!
- [STRIKE]DD's nursery fayre later, don't spend too much! Must withdraw cash for this![/STRIKE] OMG! I actually can't believe they charged to get in, then all the activities etc were 50p/£1 each! What a rip off! It's not as if they don't get enough in fees anyway!
- Was going to pop up to another fun day but DB3 has gone away and his gf has to work so we might be like lemons... Not going, can't afford it now anyway!!!
- [STRIKE]Baking this afternoon, need choc chips[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]1x HC[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Dry on aired if weather still iffy[/STRIKE]
- Mow lawn
- Dinner from stores
- [STRIKE]Buy envelopes for eBay sales in 99p[/STRIKE]
- Stay in tonight and watch film friend has leant me, have DD so no great loss!
- Update MSE diary later
- See if I can skip a weeks shop, don't seem to be eating much at the moment! DB3 has gone camping and seems to have emptied the cupboards to do so! Was a bit annoyed that I couldn't make DD a sandwich when I got home because he'd taken the loaf of bread and not got one out of the freezer...oh and also I couldn't empty the kitchen bin (HIS JOB!!!) because he'd used the last bin bag to hoof out his car!!!!! (Mum.....like father like son huh?!)
Got an idea that today will be a very spendy day...see you on the other side!

Hello to all
Ixia – thanks for starting the thread
Not a good evening yesterday – managed to have a major falling out with my Brother In Law (who I was really close with)…TBH it’s really upset me as we have known each other for 19 years, and I classed him as a brother….oh well
Today I have/will do:
• Meals from stores
• Messaged brother on FB asking him to read out/pass to BIL to explain what happened and put my side across (they are in a civil partnership)
• LSD – might have to buy something small to cheer myself up
• Do my nails – file and buff to within an inch of their life
• Put change in coke bottle
• Read newspapers online
• Watched a couple of things on the sky box
• Checked online banking – no change
• Do online comps
• Done a couple of surveys
• Drink plenty of water
• Take meds to sort out hormones
• Put washing on at 30 degrees
• Need to catch up with the thread from this week as been really busy
Think that is about it – I am sure there will be things I have forgotten.
Have a fabby one!

Morning all!
My carpet and floor are getting fitted today so I'm bored stiff already waiting for the fitters to call to tell me what time they'll be here. Today will revolve around that really - lots of sitting around whilst they're working and then a mammoth clean up operation afterwards - I keep telling myself that it'll be nice when its done:o
Already today I have...- Moved fridge to living room - looks lovely - NOT!
- Taken all bits out of the way for the fitters
- Walked the dog
- Popped to the shop for milk and kitkats to keep the fitters sweet!
- Had a quick shower rather than a bath
- Sort out mortgage letter that came yesterday - need to keep the ball rolling
- Clean upstairs as soon as the bedroom carpet is done - making the small bedroom into an office/guest room - have bought a chair bed, desk, chair and shelves
- Put everything into the "office" getting rid of piles of work stuff and books
- Sort through final box of novels for mum and charity shop
- Put pictures up when everything is done (if I still have the energy)
- Take anything leftover from the work to the tip (if there's time)
- Walk dog and try to stop him licking fitters to death:eek:
- All food from stores
- If there's time later do a small supermarket shop (will try to spend less than £25 and will use Clubcard vouchers to double the value for dog food)
- Stay in tonight and collapse in a heap and watch one of the free Lovefilm DVDs that should arrive today!:rotfl:

Good morning everyone. I've been up for hours and achieved nowt to speak of! I'm in the mood to do absolutely nothing so first off is to find a big bucket of enthusiasm!
So far:- ran WH overnight on Economy 7
- fed and watered the chickens
- breakfast from stores (that's if you can count a small wedge of coffee cake as breakfast
) - checked banking
- checked for surveys - only prize draw ones recently
- hang HC on airer as a bit dull and dreary outside
- finish cross stitch card for friend
- prepare DGS4's quilt for stitching
- make 2 corset patterns
- make beetroot chutney as I was too tired the other evening
- do loads of housework - saves me hunting for a cleaner which I'm feeling inclined to do at the moment
- all meals from stores
- have an enforced NSD
I'm gonna sit and stitch now...
