:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Jayward-hope you have a nice day.
Jackie-glad the wedding went beautifully, the poem is lovely, made me a bit teary too.Shame about the flood in the kitchen.

FB-hope the move goes ok-good luck in your new home(and Adelight)
    Hugs to Lou xx
I've been busy the last few days as it was DS exGF baby shower today, they asked me to do the bunting,so finished that earlier in the week and DS delivered that, and he helped with the gazebo and other bits.Yesterday I was baking cupcakes and a lemon drizzle, and finally did the crochet blanket about midnight.

I was a bit nervous about going as I dont know many of the people who were going, but one of DS friends picked me up,I've known her since primary school, where I worked as a Nursery Nurse.I was also the first aider and she had lots of nose bleeds, she never forgets that I used to look after her well :)

Anyway,I got to see my expected DGs nursery, which is beautiful, and had a pleasant afternoon, better than I thought-I just didnt want to hear any negative comments about DS when he tries his best to do the right thing.S'pose at least I was invited ;)

I made up a basket with lots of things in,nappies, bibs, the blanket, soft toy, nursery rhyme book etc, then did it all up with cellophane and ribbons and it did look nice,s.o.came up to me and said how nice it was so hopefully thats gone down well.

DH & DS decided to call at the pub while I was out so there isnt anyone in at the moment,I had some food at the baby shower,so not really hungry but no doubt they'll be starving when they come in.
Someone came to look at the car, which we have advertised at the mo,seemd to like it and said they'll ring tomorrow.

Right, sorry to have waffled on-hope everyone has a good evening x

I've popped back on for a rest after my day of cleaning and cooking! I've made 2 quiches, an apple pie, coleslaw, potato salad, bread, and marinades for the chicken. Worn out now and having a glass of wine!

Happy birthday to people with them, congratulations to people celebrating, comiserations to those that aren't, and hugs to anyone that needs them.

Well she messaged me about an hour ago to say they are going to her SisIL's for the night as the house smells so bad :( It is a real mess, and the insurance co don't seem to have an emergency claims line. But she's being pretty matter of fact about it. If it takes a while to dry out, BIL will go stay with his other sister who lives alone in a 3 bed flat, until it is sorted. Not a great start to married life, but compared to everything else they are dealing with, its nothing. She's amazing, I don't think I would be so calm. :)

Yep, like I said, she's amazing. My nephew stayed here last night, and he was desperate to get home to see what had happened, he is really upset about it, poor soul. I had thought we would all be leaving them well alone for a few days to get some peace and quiet. Some good friends had bought them dinner B & B at a nice hotel (a very very nice hotel) for tomorrow night, but BIL is too exhausted and now with this, they didn't want to go, the hotel were happy to move it to next week for them though, so she'll get a nice break once all the stress of sorting it out, out of the way. Bonkers to go from sucha high and so much happiness to such a downer straight away.

  • JackieG....... DSis looked radiant.... and I do love to see a man in a kilt ;)

What a bloomin' shame that she had to go back to a ruined kitchen. I hope she hasn't got too long a wait to get things sorted x x
Give her a hug from me smiley-hug005.gif

The poem was lovely and brought a lump to my throat x
