So on Monday morning if all these TV's get shipped out by Samsung do you think Ebuyer will be ringing round everyone to get them to a) stump up the extra £290 or b) return it to them? Woonder how much the return shipping would cost them in total!

83 in stock now! If it went out of stock as soon as the first lot went through then surely they'd have been more likely to honour it. The way this is going, they'd lose thousands!!

Anybody out there got some difinitive info on what point contract is formed because I have had some conflicting info from Trading standards!!

I was under the impression once payment was taken end of story but they seem to think otherwise.

Surely you wouldn't have to 'return ' it as such just make it available for them to pick up (at your convenience ie. between 4-4.15 wednesday the eleventeenth of july)

    as quoted from usenet

Spoke to Trading Standards when Kodak tried ducking out of the
DX3700-for-£100 ****-up. An offer on a website is an "invitation to
treat". They don't have to accept it, but once they have, that's pretty
    much it.
It's like advertising a telly in a shop for a quid. You come in, "I'll
buy that telly for a quid, please." I say (cos I'm the shopkeeper) "No,
I refuse. Get out me shop." Fair enough. But if I say, "OK, that's a
pound. Ta. <chakkity-chakka of the receipt printer>, here's the
receipt, TV's over there," then as you pick up the TV and walk out the
shop, "Whoah, hang on, A QUID? GET BACK HERE. OI!" - tough. Deal's
    been done.

This is going to be fun :)

As far as I can see there is a contract, their terms & conditions clearly state there is, and as such they cannot decide to cancel the order because of a pricing error, without both sides agreeing.

1.3 By way of clarification, an acknowledgement of your order will be sent to you via e-mail when you place your order, but acceptance of your offer to buy the goods will not take place until after your payment is taken and you receive your acceptance e-mail. It is at this point that a binding legal contract is created and any contract is subject to these Terms and Conditions.

Pricing error or not, the T&C clearly say that they have accepted our offer to buy :D

I was told by Trading Standards last week, that it would deepnd on the law what they deem as a contract. I always thought it was if money was taken, but it sounds like the law would have to decide on this.
