Also extra checking of the notes means that no-one can be 'confused' whether it was a £10 or a £20 plus to check that they are real.

Checking your notes when you and your family have shopped daily there since they opened up Is stupid!
  • Why? Being a regular shopper doesn't mean that you will never accidentally pass a counterfeit note.

AARRGGHH! No, BusinessStudent, YOU are stupid!!!

You've listed all the things wrong with Tesco Express and yet you still shop there DAILY, and have been doing ever since they opened???

Without fail, your posts never cease to irritate the hell out of me. Stop complaining and if you don't like the store, DON"T SHOP THERE!!!

I think everyone should carry ID anyway. When its your job on the line, you need to be careful about who you serve!
Most stores have the Think 21 policy in place, where as if the staff dont think you look 21 then they should ask you for ID.

every place that sells alcohol has the under 21 campaign in force

You and your family will exchange money with other people all the time. You may accidently receive a fake note.

How would they know you haven't done that by mistake?
  • I work a a cashier and have to check notes - it's our job. One day a customer told me that he made a joke once to a cashier along the lines of "be careful the ink is still wet" and it turned out to be a fake. Did he feel silly or what.

    Just don't take it personally.

Business Student - surely you have better things to do than thinking up complaints all the time. If you don't like somewhere then don't go there, maybe you're running out of places to go shopping though.

Don't moan about tesco express - you'd soon be moaning if a SPA turned up in its place and there are no fresh fruit/veg, everything was 10% more expensive, no clubcard points, completely untrained staff etc (and that etc is there because I can't think of any more at the moment!)

Staff get paid exactly the same rates as those in normal stores, and bonuses are not based directly on profits, they're based on wastage and things going over budget, such as wages.

My GF is a manager at one of these stores and to see the effort she puts in to make her store as good as it is and then some jumped up teenager go in and shout at her because something's not on the shelf (probably the only thing in the store, too) is really infuriating! If you don't like, don't go there!
