Anyway, the problem is likely that you are not placing the key in to the correct folder. If no one has helped you by the end of my siesta, I will do it.0

Often when people copy/paste they do not realise that there is a space at the end of the key and this is also being pasted in.
Resulting in the software seeing a different key than it should be.
Try typing it in manually.
Also if trying the uninstall, it does not necessarily remove all files - especially the key if one exists.
So if trying to uninstall you also need to use Windows explorer and manually check then delete files from the installed folder.0 -

“WinRAR checks the file rarreg.key or rarreg.txt in the WinRAR folder and in the %Appdata%/WinRAR folder.
Seems in one of these folders is an invalid key saved.”
They take hours/days between emails so any help from here would be great.
Try looking in the two folders they suggest for either rarreg.key or rarreg.txt. If they exist, rename them to say end in .old, and then try entering the key again.
For Vista, the Winrar folder should be c:\program files\winrar.
The appdata folder is accessed easiest by clicking start >progams >accesories >run, then putting %Appdata%/WinRAR in the open box and clicking ok.0 -

Well I found and deleted the old files in the folder.
The %Appdata%/WinRAR will not allow me accesss unless I purchase the license!!!!0 -
Hmmm...seems that it did not go well.
So, let's start again. Uninstall WinRAR via the Start button > Control Pane > Programs > Programs and Features, selecting WinRar and then Uninstall.
Reboot and then install a fresh copy of WinRAR 32 bit. Let me know when you are at that point.0 -

The file you need should be called rarreg.key and placed in the c:/program files/winrar folder.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0
