Is there an easy way to register my Winrar purchase? I am having no joy from their tech support people – all they do is repeat what I should do and I am doing it BUT keep getting the message “Registration failed”.
They have sent the key via email and I ought to be able to drag and drop it on to the Winrar screen. It all goes according to plan until the very last part when I get the failed message.

No joy but this is what the tech support said 2 mins ago:
“WinRAR checks the file rarreg.key or rarreg.txt in the WinRAR folder and in the %Appdata%/WinRAR folder.
Seems in one of these folders is an invalid key saved.”
They take hours/days between emails so any help from here would be great.0 -
De-install the version you have, reboot and then download and install a clean copy. 32bit or 64bit, according to your operating system.0

why did you buy it? unzipping functionality is built into xp/vista/w7, and there are many freeware archivers that do other formats, eg 7zip!!

Ask for your money back. No need to buy it.0
