Now I love purple but not sure about the living room. Even worse they've left the tv on and that woman  They also appear to have the tumble dryer and fridge in the dining room which all appears to be odd.

On a similar note - a fridge/freezer in one of bedrooms!

  • not to mention also within a couple of streets of the historic red light district

You know you can't be living in THAT big a place when there isnt a "red light district".

Either that, or I've been walking round my own area with blinkers on for the last however-many-years:rotfl:and there's street/s that I am not aware of....
  • Okays....having seen the comment re even skirting boards and floorboards being removed in one repossession - it might sound naive but I gotta ask (as I've often wondered):

Why do some people DO this if they get repossessed:
    - misdirected anger?

    - trying to take literally every single penny out of the place by hook or by crook?

    - a huge level of self-destructiveness (first I'll get repossessed, then I'll ensure the house gets sold for as little as possible and land myself in even more financial schtuck)?

It's something I've never come across - hence puzzlement as to why some people do this "strip a house of everything malarkey".

Revenge against the other party can also sometimes be a factor, especially where the house has been repossessed due to a relationship breakdown. For example t**t ex thinks they are not paying a penny towards debt and so by trashing the house, the other party will have to pay more for financial mess they have caused.

Wisdom comes from experience. Experience is often a result of lack of wisdom.

Lol, I remember watching neighbours from hell episode where some bloke got a wall built in front of the neighbours window as the garden was his land.

  • Even assuming the EA can spell - the use of the phrase "sought after area" gets taken with a distinct pinch of salt by me. I'm keeping an eye on "rival" properties for sale in my own area at present and was left wondering just who would get taken in by the use of that phrase in the property description in question for one rival property. The location of this apparently "sought after area" property is right near an industrial estate in a generally grotty area and at risk of flooding. If that's "sought after" then goodness only knows what that EA would define as a "no go area".:rotfl:

And if it's a "Popular Area", you know it's the local sink estate.:rotfl:

The garden in this house has the window of someones else house in it

You mean that lower window in picture 8?

I'm assuming that its just a bit of an odd arrangement of having to access the grassy bit from some other direction - but that the house for sale IS the one with that window in? - or have I got that wrong?

If it is the case that that extension is the neighbours extension, rather than belonging to the house for sale - then how odd is that (from their pov) to let literally every single bit of their garden space get built on right up to their back edge wall? That's asking for the person in the "for sale" house to decide they must get a bit of their privacy back and make their "back wall" look a bit more normal and put up one of those trellis in boxes arrangement literally bang in front of that window and grow some plants up it (errrm.....that's actually exactly what I would probably do myself in those circumstances....).

It really is a case, by the look of it, of a developer being particularly greedy and setting-up possible conflict between two households...musta been particularly determined to squeeze in a house where there clearly wasnt room for one.

Speaking of which - did anyone see the "Homes under the Hammer" episode this week where a particularly greedy developer turned one tiny house into 2 even tinier houses (by swopping the single storey extension into a double extension and whacking in a front door)? EEEEEEEEK! Greedy little man...and what an apology for a garden the tinier of these houses then had...

Looks like an obscure downstairs bathroom window. This sort of thing is quite common and not a special problem, provided both parties behave themselves.

Indeed, I know of a much more expensive house than that, where 3 living room windows all face the garden. The owner of the living rooms is happy to have obscure glass there (they have other windows) on the understanding that the neighbour doesn't impede their light with planting. This arrangement has worked fine for 30+ years, even though the two parties detest each other.

It's only when some one with limited imagination becomes involved that such arrangements break down. Obviously, the person with the garden has the upper hand, but they cannot expect to reduce the light of their neighbours to unacceptable levels without consequences. ;)

Don't you just love estate agents that get their terms mixed up - Quote - 'Agent's opinion......The vocal point'.........Maybe that's what they call an *all singing, all dancing* ceiling! :rotfl: Another prime example being 'sort after', LOL :rotfl:
The guy in question told DH he was determined to 'get back at the bank', but at the end of the day surely he was the only one going to be effected.
