Well, I wouldn't turn my nose up at either if they were forced upon me, but I know what you mean.

If I had the second one forced on me, I would hire a blimp with "The person who built this house has no taste" written on it and have it hover there forever.

Could anybody let me know what they think of the below property, it only came on the market yesterday and we are going around to view it today.

Wrong thread - this is a thread for odd/awful/quirky or otherwise interesting properties, you need to start your own thread really if you want any input on a potential purchase.

....Although the rustic kitchen walls will cost a bit to fix and I'm struggling to see the original fireplaces the owner waxes lyrical about. ;)

Not if they are tenants, who have to leave as the property is being sold.

Probably not if they are students.

Nor people who have been repossessed, who may well take and eBay anything that moves! ;)

Quite, Dave - I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but a couple of years ago when we were moving to this house we bought a wooden butler sink unit for our new utility room on eBay and when DH went to collect it the guy led him up the stairs to the top floor flat in a very nice sub-divided Victorian villa only to find there was no skirting and no floorboards in any of the rooms. The couple were about to be repossessed and stripped out absolutely everything they could :o He and DH had to carefully carry this heavy unit across the joists to get it out ;)

    Nasty laminate with quadrant beading.

Boiler over bath (Zone 1) may not be compliant with electrical regulations.

The kitchen can be sorted out with a plasterer.

Strangely fascinated by this. Would really like to know what the people are like.

Me too! I'd say they were pretty eccentric looking a the decor.

'... it practically throws its arms around you as you enter.' - spew

'There’s lots of original character features for your guests to admire including a brick feature fire place.' - it's not really an original character feature, it's just some exposed brickwork with a modern fireplace inserted. The photos show very few original character features. Some of the cornicing and skirting boards may be original. And are those ceiling tiles in photo 7?

    Nice enough house I guess.

Now I love purple but not sure about the living room. Even worse they've left the tv on and that woman  They also appear to have the tumble dryer and fridge in the dining room which all appears to be odd.

The mirror in picture 8 would drive me crazy.

Also, they could have emptied the washing basket before the EA came round.

I think a good general tidy would also have helped. Is that the vendor in pic 4?
