That's not a two bedroomed detached house! It's a two bedroomed flat above some garages.
I don't care how well-presented it is, pic 4 makes it look like you've got to vault over the ruddy bed to get to the wardrobe.0 -
Apparently this place has seen better days. It's so bad even the fireplace has vomited!

OH MY!
So pleased I live in the North East. I'm in the process of buying a two bed end terrace for £10k less than that guide price and it needs nothing doing to it. Not even decorating. (Hopefully anyway, not had the survey back yet).Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250
Overpayments to date £410
Current mortgage balance £70,6500 -

I'm not dreaming, am I? That's not a detached house at all, that's a first floor flat above a row of garages, isn't it? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

I'm surprised the spiders haven't got together to do some DIY to improve the place!0 -
Those coach houses are becoming quite common. I'd hate to live over someone else's garage though. There is a long list of potential issues - noise, smells, fire risk, the garage becoming the local teenage/crack head hang-out (see noise/smells/fire risk), structural issues, etc.
There was a rough estate in Manchester full of HOG's (Houses over garages), which were all changed because of the problems you stated. I'm really surprised that they're still being built.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

To add to which, I believe there's some sort of insurance and/or flying freehold type problems as well isnt there? I know there was something or other else besides the above as potential problems.
I'm just a bit hazy on the details, but can recall thinking that I had had a lucky escape when I realised about it after having gone and looked at a coach house one time.
Thinking of Ames' comment above, the coachhouse concerned had only been built pretty recently too I believe. It was old enough that it was the owner showing me round it, but I cant think it was earlier than this century in build.
I guess they call these places "houses" on the back of usually having one room downstairs. The one I viewed had its kitchen downstairs, but all the other rooms upstairs.0 -

Is it me, or does the inside not match the outside period wise. The inside looks 1930s but the outside late 50sPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
