The vendors don't seem to have put much effort into 'dressing' their house. Or maybe they've just abandoned it?

Piano and sewing machine = too posh to tidy.

  • Hmm, first couple of internal photos don't really do a £4,000,000 house justice.

Some interesting decorative choices, and picture 28

Completing the kitchen area is a built-in television screen within the Aga chimney breast

That must be the forthcoming TV series, The Only Way Is Solihull.

My house may not be worth £4m but I do have the same Panasonic phone system.

And the same """marble""" effect wall tiles my parents had in about 1985! I see them in listings occasionally. Are they still sold?

Those are called 'birdlip' tiles IIRC as if you stare at them you can see a vague bird shape within the pattern. My previous home built in 1972 had them, except they were pink. They are very thin, and no they don't still make them.

How does having a sewing machine make you posh?

I couldn't find any results for birdlip, but putting in 'chicken tiles 1970' gets it bang on! I used to stare at the plump bird outline in the design for ages (I was a bored child). My parents had the brown-veined ones. They seem to have been very popular (possibly they were cheap).

If you have a seamstress to go with it, then yes :p
Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

It was my neighbour who also had them who told me they were birdlip. He'd been in the house since they were new, but I agree chicken does describe it better!

A strange assumption about imaginary occupants.
The rest of the house hardly suggests Arts & Crafts....

I take it that the hanging spider thingies are a modern take on chandeliers? What sort of person could live in a place like that? And who in their right mind would want to pay 4 million quid for it?
