I'd say that's 70s rather than 80s. The TV my parents bought in 1983 which eventually gave up the ghost in the early 00s looked more modern.
I'm amazed how good a condition the 3 piece suite, which looks a similar age, appears to be in.0 -
Second hand up for green carpet. A new(ish) one in the lounge that has a wonderful sofy feel underfoot (probably down to the extra thick underlay). I much prefer green (or just about any other colour) over grey.
+1 for (previously) having a green carpet and loving it
It was a green 'Turkey' Axminster that my parents bought us as an anniversary gift and was way more expensive than we could have afforded at the time, especially as our living room was fairly large (20' x 14') so it required a join. When we sold our house the estate agent advised us to swap it for a more neutral carpet - as well as the equally traditional Wilton in the hall - which we did, taking the Turkey carpet with us to our next house where we had it fitted on the stairs.
The new owners of our previous house replaced the greige living room carpet with something very similar to what we'd removed, lol
In our current home we don't have any fitted carpets, but two of our antique rugs contain large amounts of green......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Why is what little kitchen there is in what appears to be a living room?0 -

Could be a cost saving measure for someone who's struggling with money, one less room to heat in the winter.0 -

Only 3 receptions, 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in the main house though.

Front room is kept for "best".
That would also explain the very clean suite.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Definitely made before the fire safety label was compulsory so no charity shop or shelter will take it
And what really angers me about the labels that were eventually made compulsory is that they weren't made to be difficult to remove (or woven in) so when they fall off over time or are misguidedly removed , perfectly good reusable seating ends up on landfill if it can't easily be given away/sold on (as many items are too heavy /bulky to take away for most people)
