Looks like the price has dropped a bit - the £4.7M refurbishment might not have been the best idea! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3734461/A-house-fit-wealthy-Heidi-130-year-old-wooden-chalet-imported-beam-beam-Switzerland-built-banks-Thames-goes-sale-7-5million.html
I remember the his'n hers (other combinations are legal!;)) en-suite bedroom, where couples could race from the bed and see who could get through the toilet and bath fastest, before finally brushing their teeth in the twin basins that look like breakfast bar stools......:rotfl:0 -
Here's another one that's reduced. I include it only because it's almost 60 years since I was last inside, when it looked very different.
I'd just arrived in Devon and discovered the kids in 'the old chapel' opposite our chilly rental were relative newbies too, so we had something in common. In those days, there was no upper floor to this building and no way of heating it effectively, so I remember being very sorry for these children, despite my own family having fallen on hard times....:(

No need to feel sorry nowadays. Through hard graft, the family went on to develop one of the most successful businesses in the area. Indeed, they're currently in the midst of a multi-million £ expansion programme. I expect the chilblains and runny noses, which were other things we shared, are all but forgotten!
No idea who lives there now.0 -
Nothing remarkable about this house, but why is it being marketed by an agency located hundreds of miles away with one of the worst names I've ever seen.

Looking at the blurb, they should've called themselves 'InaneBrix'
Local knowledge is key, and here they excel by pointing out that Exeter has, 'Restaurants, Shops, Hotels and the Galmington Stream.'
Ah yes, the Galming.....err hang on a minute...! There is a Galmington and a stream passing through it, but that's some walk. It's 30 miles up the M5, in Taunton!
Where do the muppets who write this stuff find it, and how on earth do they find their way home after work?0 -

How strange that there's no mention of the proximity to the station.0 -
I wonder if the photographer was like, "if I ignore it, it's not there" Pic 5.

Is that Japanese Knotweed in pic 6? :rotfl:Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed0 -
Possibly the contender for the easiest 'spot the dog' game ever. I'm not sure about the house guv, but I'll happily take that dog!

I quite like the house too.
Given the rather prominent fire exit sign on the stairs, I wonder if the vendors have been renting it out as a holiday cottage?0 -
They make beds smaller than a single now?!
