I'm a wee bit embarrassed to say how long it took me to work out what I was looking at in picture 2. I tried to unravel what I was seeing as a kitchen breakfast bar! No beer for me though0 -

"improvable" is certainly one way to describe it. It would be hard to make it worse.
On the other hand, I think "ripe for demolition thirty years ago" would be more honest.
