One of the TV cooks had a red kitchen in the late 60s/early 70s. It's going to bug me now until I can remember which one.0

Thanks but no. It was post Fanny C and a female, but my brain just won't release the information. Don't think it was Delia.0

I thought 'penthouse' was just a posh word for 'top floor flat'.0 -

A good example of absolutely exemplifies an FTB house - as one would pretty much leave it "as is" if bought as an FTB house - but a lot would change if it was going to be "somewhere more permanent" (eg that garden).0 -
Even if I'd only plan to stay 5 years as an FTB, I wouldn't be able to live with that garden - or with the blue tiles in the bathroom.0

Me tooOur FTB house was perfectly liveable but that didn't stop us putting in a new and more efficient central heating system, landscaping the garden and redecorating throughout,; including two different kitchens during the two years we were there, lol!
The first kitchen was an ex display one we picked up cheaply (white with grey tramlines) - it looked as cheap as it was although we did have a smart Smeg built in oven that I managed to ruin when I I left some sausages under the grill
The second kitchen came about when I spotted a plate rack in a local second hand shop for £35 and decided to hunt down the units to match. They were Magnet limed oak and cost us what seemed a small fortune in 1991! I remember we had green and cream gingham wallpaper and terracotta Mexican tiles...... which are trendy again now :rotfl:Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed0
