It looks as if it was never quite finished to sign-off, so there's all sorts of possibilities and the devil's in the detail.StumpyPumpy wrote: »Whenever I see a (non-derelict) house put up for auction my first thoughts are "Why are they so desperate to sell: what it wrong with it?" Auction is the last chance saloon for properties and a bit of digging usually reveals the issue(s). Though in this case it is right there in the listing:Auctioneers' Note:Which could explain the auction sale, if not the actual reason why as a new build it failed to get signed off.
When the property was constructed it was not signed off at building control.
They might well need all their dreams in full working order to find a buyer willing to put up £450k+ in cash to buy it and then fix whatever problems there are.

Certainly, there's evidence of care in design, and in some of the execution, though I wouldn't want their plasterer!0

After clicking on the map view and zooming out, I'm concerned there may be a risk of flooding here.

What an ugly house. The back garden is awful. It just shows that some people will buy anything.0

Yes, it's a new build alright.
I do know that area of Brum quite well but had never heard of the road, have jutst looked it up and the development is next door to Reaside Hospital, which to quote the website of the NHS trust who manage it:
"Our service based at Reaside Clinic provides assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to service users with severe mental health problems who have committed a criminal offence or who have shown seriously aggressive or threatening behaviour."
 http://www.bsmhft.nhs.uk/our-services/secure-care/medium-secure-forensic-service-for-men/
Of course I'm sure the dodgy mapping was an honest mistake and in no way a clumsy attempt to hide this fact.0

I gotta ask - as my first thought was "Wonder if the useless plasterer I had here has done some work elsewhere in the country?" and googled back for a look at it
= what are you spotting as defects in the plaster you don't like (as that is a point I'm not spotting myself).0

The whole thing looks as if it was shot on an old phone, so maybe I'm wrong, but I'm picking up subtle changes of shade in the ceilings and on some of the walls, which suggests unevenness. It could be dirt on the walls, though. The whole thing just doesn't look as crisp as it should.moneyistooshorttomention wrote: »

I think is one of those 'if you have to ask, you can't afford it' cases

Exactly, but it is rather nice...although I'm not sure about some of the wall art!
...it wouldn't be cheap to heat either.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
