I love Lincoln, still small and friendly, but big enough to have decent choice of shops etc
And pretty cheap. 0 -

It's only a fairly ordinary garden.

Devon can be quite cheap if one stays away from the tourist hot spots. Plenty of choice around £250k - £300k, from olde worlde cottages to modern bungalows, just right for a quiet, easy retirement.

That's a rather large bedroom 21' 8" x 12' 4" (6.619m max x 3.768m max)
To paraphrase "The Quite Man" you'd have to be an athlete to catch your other half. :rotfl:0 -

One thing we have noticed since moving to the West Midlands is that the [STRIKE]tip[/STRIKE] recycling centre doesn't have a resale area. Not sure if that's the same in other parts of the country, but back in Wiltshire (and previously in both Essex and Hampshire) there were sections set aside for the sale of the *better class of rubbish*
My council's bulky waste is £20 for first item and £3.50 for each subsequent item. If the other items are electrical - its an extra £1 for subsequent items.
When I had my washing machine delivered by a local firm, they charged me £5 extra for disposing of the old one. I have seen others in the area having other white goods delivered and don't pay the £5 for disposing as seen their broken appliance on top of their drive. Why didn't they pay the electrical showroom the £5, I don't know.
My tips don't have a resale area. Though I had people taking my stuff away when I took them to the tip. One time, I got rid of some picture frames as the backs went. Someone said they are the sort he was after and took them off me. Another time it was a round veg rack on wheels as he was going to convert the baskets into flower baskets by welding some chains at the rims. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
