I bet it will be knocked down and something awful will be built on the land. Such as this The better examples, SV hasn't been down the roads since spring 2014 and I would been able to show actual examples of 1930s houses being knocked down and replaced with ugly things on the same plot of land..

Shame on Leicester City Council's planning department for allowing this!

It only takes a couple of minutes on LCC's Planning website to see that what they are doing is demolishing a garage and conservatory and replacing them with two storey extensions to side and rear, in sympathy with the original house's look and finish. They say no trees will be harmed in this development.

Even if it were true, you can't block all housing development just because the new builds are in a different style to ones of several decades ago. If that were the case many 1930's houses would not have been built in the first place, and many tower blocks would not have been replaced by 1980's housing estates (which can be interpreted as either a good or a bad thing, depending on your view of 1980's housing estates)

One assumes that the houses you think is ugly and disapprove of have owners who like them, and they were prepared to put their money where their mouth was so surely their views count for something?

OK it's a nice building but this is about 100K more than similar sized properties with parking and no restrictions on holiday letting.

However, what really caught my eye were the FOUR purpose build bunk beds in the tiny bedroom while the parents luxuriate in their generous double. "Don't bother bringing any toys to our holiday home kids"
