My favourite is the mood lighting in pic 7 - if their aim was inner city public toilet, they may have just nailed it.

That shower looks like the transporter from the enterprise!

It has a style, but what on earth drew them to that property to update in that way!

And would you want to pay £70K more than they paid 2.5 years ago?

bucket in the bathroom and fancy filter use.
  • Maybe doing nicely for anyone with fantasies of what they would do if they could do a quick bit of time travel?:rotfl:

Dont know that area of the country - but that price feels a bit cheap actually for a house like that. It would have to have all the "old person" type stuff ripped out of it - but it's not a bad little house per se.

Robatwork's not far wrong with his assessment lol
It's quite a cheap area. It's a bit awkward to get to main places like Kings Lynn and Peterborough from there, and it's only about 5 miles from Wisbech, which tarrs it with a certain brush. I live in the area, and it's a nice wee place. You can get a bargain if you don't mind being a little further away from the action.

I never actually noticed the clocks. I was too taken aback by the general "stuff"!

Now how does one house neatly have examples of every single thing I hate - patterned carpets, coloured bathroom suite, horrible cheap unmatching old kitchen, tiled fireplace. Followed by the garden doing the same - a hydrangea and a conifer tree.

There's only two Hates left - they haven't got those diamond pane type things on the windows or "stuff" on the ceilings.

Errrm...hang on a minute - I think I've just concluded why I had to spend so much money on my current house - a lot of that sounds familiar:rotfl:
  • "Requires renovation"...
Which bathroom would get the chop first? :D

I quite like the colour of those kitchen cabinets (pic 12). On the other hand, I hate the colour of those in pic13. :)

There's one a bit like that not far from us. A 1950s bungalow - the property name proclaims it a cottage when there's nothing remotely cottage-y about it unlike some characterful period bungalows - that sold two years ago for £225k. It underwent a really !!!!!! and wholly inappropriate renovation (all shiny white tiled floors, handleless kitchen, 'designer' radiators and grey windows, yet they retained the hideous white Victorian style conservatory!) that took a year to complete.

We assumed that as there was no apparent rush to finish the work it was being done to live in, not sell, but it duly went on the market when works were finished a year ago. Vacant, it has been dressed for sale with everything in black, red or grey, including curtains with the New York skyline. Asking price £450k, when a realistic price is more like £325k. Bungalows in this slow-moving area typically sell to retired, older buyers who tend to go for the very traditionally styled options. Family buyers seem to prefer new builds with enclosed garden in quiet locations, whereas this property is on a main road with completely unfenced gardens.

Makes you wonder what went through the renovators mind when deciding how to style it. I predict it will still be on the market this time next year ;)
