I am not sure what you mean by "the vendors repair".moneyistooshorttomention wrote: »
if I hadnt dealt with the vendors repair for them...
The vendor is entitled to market a house in whatever condition he chooses to and has no obligation to make any repairs at all.
You buy the house as it stands and it is up to you, the purchaser to inspect, or instruct a surveyor to inspect, to establish what may need doing and calculate your purchase offer accordingly.0 -

Not really. There's a service duct there.
Meanwhile, here's a house that dare not show it's face:

Lovely little house but wow I do not want to know what that ivy has done to the integrity of the walls. :eek:0 -

Could do with seeing more of the garden - but I rather like it. Have always wanted a verandah - well...that and a Moroccan style internal courtyard.0 -

Me too! It's rather 'white' for my taste, but certain aspects of it are lovely
We do have a verandah - added when the house was extended in 1924 - but that one is much more American in style than ours.......love it!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Banjos and shotguns on the sofa at dawn, that white house is disgusting! So much useless junk in it, built in everywhere.0

Technically yep. In actual fact (and good conscience) I am livid at someone with so little in the way of morals that they could try and save themselves a measly little £50 (!!!!- aka peanuts) knowing very well that they were putting the buyer at heavy duty risk of the ceiling in room collapsing on them that very first winter (courtesy of the rain coming through the roof) in a tatty old-fashioned little house. Added said buyer being a woman on her own in strange area.
Words fail me.
The law allows it - but my conscience wouldnt have let me do that to someone. Plus the knowledge it's not a very big place and "lots of people know people";) - and the community grapevine has hopefully dealt with telling them exactly what I think of them for doing that to me:rotfl:0
