Ri can see why it wouldn't be worth anyone trying to lift but why try and prevent it in the first place.

As for the term in itself this isn't this a standard term for farmland etc?

Maybe they don't actually want to sell it? They may have been ordered to sell and this is their way of making that unlikely.

If an ag-tied property doesn't sell at a fair market price, owners can apply to have the tie lifted.

Those who grant the removal of ties aren't stupid, though. Near me someone marketed for years at too hiigh a price, but they were unsuccessful in having their tie removed.

I live in an ag-tied property. However our land and barns aren't tied and could be bought by anyone.

This is because only the property in the title when it was first created may be tied, as it was that which needed exemption from the usual constraints of rural planning permission.

However, just to add to the confusion, depending on where the property is, the likelihood of the tie's conditions being enforced will vary by a huge amount. Where I live, the danger of being evicted for non-compliance is probably about the same as being hit by a meteorite.

Here's a versatile house. What's your style? Neo-georgian, well then walk in through the front door (photo 1) but if the 1960's is more your style then enter your house through the back door (photo 2).

I've double checked this, the photos really are of the same house.

That's unusual; also there's no mention of the tenure being freehold in the ad. I'm a bit suspicious now.

Slightly odd character cottage with a shrunken thatched roof, (don't leave one out in the rain!) no privacy in bedroom 3 and total disagreement on window style.

However, who'd pay £365k for an address like that, with or without the apostrophe?

it's better than that, you get the main hospital for the entire area as your near neighbour and a major London bound road at the front door. I know it well... some nice people live at the back :)

perhaps the photographer missed his calling in life and really wanted to be an impressionist painter? You never know pic 2 might be more valuable than the house itself if he becomes a "name" - after all an unmade bed did it, so why not an out of focus pic?
