It doesn't really sit among 'miles of green fields.' It's about 100m from an industrial estate, a housing estate and the main London- South West/Wales railway line.I_have_spoken wrote: »
Anyone with half a brain and a knowledge of growth in the area would expect this at some point in the immediate future, although the size & scope of the development allowed remains to be seen.
They must've really been part of the local community, eh?
Anyway, they'll do fine out of it, I'm sure.
And if they relocate to where I am, freedom from this sort of thing would be guaranteed, but it'd be over 10 miles to the nearest supermarket, decent take-away etc. That's the reality of 'miles of green fields!'0 -

A floorplan would have been very helpful You can see the bath in picture 8 so it 'could' be the en-suite for the master bedroom. In the description bedroom 2 has stairs leading down to the en-suite. Maybe the two rooms share it.0 -
According to the Land Registry, they bought the cottage on November 20, 2012. The proposed development is part of Wiltshire Council’s core strategy for Chippenham, a strategy that was developed from 2009. This document: http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/planning-policy-chippenham-draft-core-strategy-strategic-sites-delivery-trajectory-info.pdf shows that the initial plans were definitely in place in November 2011, a full year before they bought the place.I_have_spoken wrote: »
This Local News Report says that the plans were approved in June 2012: 5 months before they bought.
How something this big and so current and relevant to their property did not turn up in their searches I wouldn't like to speculate, unless they chose to ignore them of course, and now think they can get someone (anyone) to give them some compensation.
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -

They're hideous. What would really, really annoy me is that they've been laid to a pattern in some rooms and not in others. The perfectionist in me just couldn't live with that.
I also love the fact that in the description the EA points out that is has not just a hallway, but a 'superb hallway'. Everything else is clearly just average, but the hallway is something else ...

That's near me. I've often wondered what the inside was like as the outside is very dated. It's as I should've expected.0
