That's awful.........:p
A neighbour of ours in Hampshire had similar questionable taste but on a somewhat grander scale - a Koi carp pond that ran from outside in his decking through the front house wall into his kitchen/family room, supposedly to stimulate his disabled childMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Or, on the other hand, could be a talking point for when dinner guests come round.
"Catch your own dinner folks and then I'll cook it on the Barbie" (shades of Turkish holidays past .......though thankfully the cook had done the catching for us...0 -
Anyone for a well finished eight bedroom semi with sea views for under £250k?

Jeezo you lot are critical! :rotfl:
I- I actually like seeing owners who've made their homes places that they can enjoy fully rather than all the beige / neutral / grieged properties out there which look like perpetual holiday homes / rental properties / soulless new builds...
'Grieged' isn't an expression I'm familiar with, but as Grieg was a romantic composer, perhaps it could be applied to houses with phrases of sentimental twaddle stencilled onto the walls, or one of those wooden plaques on the mantelpiece saying, "Love."
'Grieged.' Yes, definitely has a ring to it .....:)0 -

When he was younger, an elderly friend of mine built a pond under the staging in his long greenhouse and stocked it with roach. According to him, they ate the unhelpful insects.....0 -

I would love a huge Koi pond in my conservatory - I actually like seeing owners who've made their homes places that they can enjoy fully rather than all the beige / neutral / grieged properties out there which look like perpetual holiday homes / rental properties / soulless new builds...
Although I have to admit the gold dustbin was spectacular :T
Don't get me wrong - I hate *greige* with a vengeance when applied wholesale to properties the way it is by some people and as for new builds - don't even go there (I certainly wouldn't, lol!) - and I love quirky houses/individuality more than a lot of people in these 'ere parts, but the house with inside pond was just yuck imho
Some of you guys will know I speak the truth about my own rather unusual taste as you'll remember me posting the details of our last-but-one house currently on the marketCoincidently, scanning RM this afternoon I discovered that the house we owned prior to that has just come up for sale.......nothing exciting or particularly nasty about it, but here's the link for those that are as nosey as me, lol :rotfl:
https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-43106753.html
We bought in 1992 when it was a nicotine-stained, featureless fleapit and sold in 1997, since when it has changed hands at least once.......suffice to say the only features remaining from our ownership are the fireplaces (put in by DH) and the bathrooms......bit dated now, lol!
Btw, this was the house I referred to in the recent thread about bus stops outside properties - I just noticed the one we suffered outside for five years appears to have gone.......typical, huh!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Errr...am I missing something somewhere? Allowing for the worst "expander" photos I have seen for a long time...it still looks a rather nice house to me.
Is the "sea view" one where you look at it and then instantly start calculating just how long it will be before it's actually IN the sea iyswim?0
