A slightly addictive website - guess the price the house sold for

Oh dear, love that price guessing game
Got slightly distracted as my mum's house was on one of the pics!!! Cockily put in the right price only to get it wrong - house I was supposed to be looking at was her next door neighbours! Duh :rotfl:Looking for the sunshine after the rain
Dealing with debt £1800 paid / £1800 cc :j

Yes , I saw it. They didn't mention the attached house much did they ... ?
They kept showing the wonderful views from the cupola, but the wide shots made it obvious it was packed into a fairly dense housing estate on 3 sides...
I wonder what the neighbours thought of the restoration?
Although I love 'restoration' type shows, Restoration Home is pretty much the worst of them - lots of filler (the pair of historians) and Quentin adds nothing beyond saying how wonderful/nice/beautiful the restored house is... give me kevin mcloud or george thingymajig anyday!
you are sadly mistaken, no housing estate - it is a very desirable village with 307 residents - mostly thatched and listed properties.... alleged 'housing estate' is the main part of the village with a school, lane and a few properties.
Neighbours all watching the program with great interest
This property recently sold there, have a look on the satellite map for an idea of the size of the village http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-42226709.html :-)LBM 1.1.16 = £27096.59 - now £17,020.38
Paydbx 2017 - £3588.90/£7000 = 51.27% - number 74
Paydbx 2016 - £6487.31/£7000 = 92.67% - number 740 -
My mum moans about how many herbs and spices I have. Not as many as this vendor (pic 3)

They'd have to be on stilts. An area I know well from my misspent youth. Take a look here - the bungalow is on the right hand side of the picture, where the "causeway" crosses. The water south of the road is the field behind the bungalow - it's underwater most of the year...

Bungalow land is proper grass and looks clear of that, though it would hardly be free draining.....
Too close for comfort anyway!

Ah, but add together all those and the cookbooks artfully displayed on the right side of the kitchen and have you got the subliminal message "This kitchen is for serious cooking in...it will cope with it". Not just a ready meal/into the microwave scenario is what you are supposed to think.
Actually, it wouldn't pass the "serious cook" test anyway...as a serious cook wouldn't want their precious spices etc out there on the worktop in full sunlight anyway.
Just don't ask me how I know about the idea of conveying subliminal messages and using nice cookbooks on display as part of it;)0 -
