Council flat dilemma

Hence the "perhaps". I'd move heaven and earth in order to hang onto a secure tenancy even if it meant dipping into savings to do so. it's possible that the OP's ex shares my view.0

I'm. A bit too old to join the army now. All though I do feel like running away from it all. Ex doesn't want to move back to the flat. She seems very haply renting a room where she is.
It's a shame I gotta go. But it looks like there is no other solution.
Thanks for all your time.
Will be starting a new thread on what to do next no I guess.0 -
You've very probably got several months until the LA apply to the courts for a possession order. Then another month or two to have it enforced. Meanwhile, you could consider stopping to pay the rent and use those funds for your onward move. Any rent-arrears will need to collected from the person whose name is on the tenancy agreement. Perhaps in several months time you might be in a position to repay her what's owed. Concentrate on looking for a flat or house-share asap0

So she's sub-let the place depriving the people who follow the rules on the council housing waiting list of a home and you've been playing along??
Given what you've been doing I'd hope the council will be unwilling to help you any further - either rehousing you permanently or as a homeless person - and would expect her to be put on whatever black-list councils run.
You've done too many of the things council's list of reasons not the help you .. Better gerra job and find a private landlord deal & good reasons why your previous landlord won't be giving you a reference..
Cheers!0 -
I think it's a foregone conclusion that the OP won't be rehoused by the LA. It doesn't sound like he was expecting to be.
John, look out for yourself now because no-one else will do it for you.0 -
The artfuldodger I do have a job. Might not be the best paid, but I have one none the less.
I was hoping we would of been back together by now. That's why I was still there. But over the last couple of weeks we have realised it's not gonna happen. I am down in their books as living there as her boyfriend. They do know I'm there, they don't know we have split up. Because it wasnt a Permanant thing at first.
Cheers bitterandtwisted I will be looking out for myself from now on. I didnt think they would rehouse me. That's why I came on here for advice. To see where I stand. I'm glad some of you could give me that.0 -
