New Nielsen Nokia Smartphone project

I checked the 1st email i got and it specifies 'latest nokia symbian smartphone ' unfortunately however cant really complain about it since we will be getting a free phone afterall...
Was trawling the internet and the nokia 500 is getting a lot exposure as the new upcoming phone so it may be this. In comparison to the latest phones it is nothing special, 3.2 inch screen, 14mm thickness n 256mb ram. Hopefully it is not this and something with a much better spec!!
If anyone else has ideas as to which model it may be pls share your thoughts!!

I think it is just down to luck. The initial email said '
That you have been selected from 1000's of Nielsen 360 panel members to take part in a new trial.'

Having just been confirmed on the trial and only recently upgraded from Nokia 5800 to a C7-00, I will quite interested to see what smartphone we get.
I would be quite interested to see the X7, but obviously the big talking point at the moment is the upcoming window 7 phone. It does seem like a coincidence that Nokia/Microsoft are making an announcement this month with rumours of the new phone appearing in October and this trial starting now.

My Nokia N900 which was given to me free by Neilsen is just coming up to being nearly 2 old and I would love another free replacement!!

It seems odd Nokia giving more symbian OS phones away now when the N9's is just about to be released?

Hi, I've only been a member on the Android panel for a few months (since getting my Desire) and I've been accepted onto the trial so I think it's just a matter of luck and possobly how much you have been using your phone?

I would love it if the phone was a windows 7 or N9. Does anyone know when we would find out? Also, has anyone received the survey from Nokia yet to confirm our details etc? The email I received said we need to fill in the survey in order for them to dispatch the phones.

how do i join up to try a phone - i love technology especially phones so would be chuffed to new phones out for free!!!

I got the N8 last october from neilsen and am still using it. Would have loved a new phone to play about with but seems I have missed out this time round. Bummer.

Yes, as they wind down Symbian as their smartphone platform, they have a range of cheaper smartphones comes through the pipe (sub £130 models). So they feature the latest version of Symbian but the hardware is bit cheaper (Camera has no flash, body is made from plastic etc etc).

An example of this is Nokia 500 - still a very decent and capable in many ways and if they give it to you for free, well...
