I like the idea of this, but I buy most of my milk on the way to or home from work, on my bike, and I am not convinced the bag will arrive home unscathed after being bumped and jostled about in my rucksack! I've already had problems with salads leaking oil everywhere, I dread to think about the state of my bag with a pint of milk spilt all over it.

My sister worked in Sainsbury's when they brought then out again... The staff demos (to encourage them to get customers to buy it) had them thrown on the floor and generally abused. Short of your keys or a pen puncturing it, you'll be fine

I agree, thats bags are pretty heavy duty - I've never had one split/puncture/break.
  • I started to have them as they were delivered by my milkman who comes every other day. We had a couple that had small holes in them and also found the milk went "off" quickly. Could, of course, be a problem with the handling at the dairy but I haven't tried since and have gone back to glass bottles.

Thanks for all the replies - hadn't even thought of freezing the bags! There is only me, oh and our dog in the house and we go through quite a lot of milk, might pop round to sainsburys and give it a go

I will certainly go to use the milk bags again as my store now stocks the skimmed milk bags - only used to sell semi skimmed.

Just for info dogs should only have goats milk as there little tummies cannot process cows milk, my squiggle enjoys a cup of tea every morning with goats milk.

I got a jugit from Sainsburys with the 2 milk bags for £1. Only slightly irritating thing I found was the milk takes longer to pour out. I like the smaller amount of waste but I only got it because it was on offer and I was a bit nervous about if the milk bag split. Perhaps whilst this offer is on I'll buy it as it's 4pts of milk for £1 (I know Tesco do the same offer with creamfields 4pts but I don't shop there often) but after that will revert to a bottle again. I'm usually in a rush in the morning

Yeah, I noticed it's slower too. But not that much I thought. Possibly good for us though; our son will be insisting on pouring his own soon lol
