The best advice I can offer and it's not ideal I know is to perhaps make up a voucher.... wrap that up for the kids.... especially from Father Christmas...
That was our plan - we weren't prepared to pay over the odds nor queue all night, I'm just grateful I was in Paris last week.

Ironically I was in Dubai for most of October, and a colleague bought one back from there (at close to UK retail), I thought him mad back then! Dubai does use the same three-pin plug as the UK, but I'm not sure whether it will have region code issues?
  • Has anyone had confirmation from Dixons yet? Mine is still reading "security check in progress" xx

This thread started January last year to search for Wiis, and carried on all year because they didn't miraculously appear after xmas, nor have they ever been abundant in the last 12 months. Theres no reason to expect that 2008 is going to be any different!!

Admittedly I haven't been on a Wii-quest for the past 12 months... it was understandable that stocks would be low last Xmas, as the console was new and Nintendo would be building up production of the unit...

I seem to remember about two/three months ago there were Wii's about (certainly from online companies) and this has been also suggested by others on the thread.

Even if stocks here are low... whats the betting that Amazon DE and FR might be more flexible with their shipping?
  • im having trouble wit argos says cookies blocked but ther not
    its bumed
  • Right just tried Argos CS - 0870 600 8784

Keep trying to see if they have stock. Catalogue Number is 568/3257

Don't bother checking their web site as they are not updating their site. Its warehouse stock only now so you have to call to place an order and only taking orders when stock is in. Hope this helps and hey its 1 less site to check every 60 seconds!!!

Right I've just phoned Vikingdirect and and apparently they have no stock surprise surprise

She was rather vague and didn't know when they would get any more in so it's back to the drawing board, Wii play going cheap anywhere....:D

So anyone that has ordered one in the last few days/weeks may get a phonecall, she did say she had lots more to make unfortunately.

They seem harder to obtain than a wii itself

My Wii is en route as we speak, hopefully lol (ordered from JL on sat) but I wont celebrate till I hear that knock...

Great !!! Another one who takes your credit card details when they've no stock !!!!

Although my order is listed as WAITING FOR DESPATCH and the web site is showing them as in stock ???
