My brother-in-law just got a Wii off 'someone he knows' for £120. No guarantee or anything....

I think this 'someone he knows' works for the Post Office or something, so you can guess where these are coming from !!!!

Right I've just phoned Vikingdirect and and apparently they have no stock surprise surprise :rolleyes:

She was rather vague and didn't know when they would get any more in so it's back to the drawing board, Wii play going cheap anywhere....:D

So anyone that has ordered one in the last few days/weeks may get a phonecall, she did say she had lots more to make unfortunately.

They seem harder to obtain than a wii itself :eek:

My Wii is en route as we speak, hopefully lol (ordered from JL on sat) but I wont celebrate till I hear that knock...

The only voucher codes I can find for Dixons now, will only work on orders over £399. Whereas a few weeks ago you could get £10 of a £250 spend. Looks like they have done this to stop people getting a discount on the Wii's. Plus they have increased the P+P by £5 for them. :mad:

Quite a few pages earlier in this thread someone wrote an excellent letter of complaint to Nintendo, has there been any comment from them on this (if so then I missed it sorry)... what is so different about the UK and US that we have no Wii's yet other countries seem to be swimming in them? I assume it is a perception that as consumers those in the UK and US will pay whatever it takes at christmas to get what they want.

Last week the BBC did an article on the shortages, I hope the media pick on this - how cynical people (the ebay scamsters) and businesses (such as Dixons) can be during the so called season of goodwill.

The best advice I can offer and it's not ideal I know is to perhaps make up a voucher.... wrap that up for the kids.... especially from Father Christmas... and make a real day of it when suddenly a whole load of Wii's miraculously come out of the woodwork after Xmas. If you wait there is a chance more Wii's will become available before Xmas. In the meantime it is everyone's desperation to buy the console that is pushing up the prices.

....and if your kids are anything like mine they will end up with more presents from the rest of the family on Xmas day than they can possibly ever play with anyway.

I agree with your coments, GB must be seen as a soft touch!! A friend of ours has very kindly offered to lend us his wii to wrap from xmas day, until we can get hold of one ourseleves, i can not afford to pay over the odds for one.

They will question you as to what they are for, without a decent reason they will cancel the order as they are against ebay profiteering and dont act as a supplier for businesses.

hooray ive just got my email from gamestation for the bundle i ordered yesterday, i should be getting it delivered today!! how fast is that , im over the moon, thanks tomthumb and good luck to everyone searching for a nintendo wii for xmas, my kids will be thrilled ..... now all i need to find is a wii play.........
