That will probably be www. w i p r e o r d e r .co.uk
I haven't opened the stock checkers for the last couple of days.
Not all the stocks we've seen on here have been showing up.0 -
I can't understand why anyone is complaining about the Dixons deal. It was a fair. What use is a console without any games ?The real profiteers are on this thread !
Hmmm.... so you think the Dixons deal was fair, forcing unwanted items with the console at full RRP, however according to you eBay is profiteering, even though ALL of the games/accessories with the Dixons deal can be obtained cheaper than RRP on eBay? If Dixons had sold consoles only, anyone could have picked up the rest of those bits and bobs on eBay for £120-£140, saving a good £50.
Heck, a bit of patience and picking/choosing and you could buy the same items as in the Dixons packages on eBay for the same price, even with the inflated console prices.
These retailers bundling loads of games and pointless accessories with the console to bump the price should be ashamed, not everyone has £350 to spend!!0 -

john lewis are doing it right.
Yes I agree, the Dixons deal is OK if you want those game, add to that the various discount codes as well as Quidco and it it's not so bad then...
But it is a cynical way to shift units by Dixons... the thread shows just how anti-competitive supply and demand can be and how the "haves" (those who either through contacts abroad or in retail) clearly don't give a damn about the have nots (in many cases your average punter who just want to buy his/her kids a present for Xmas)
Quite a few pages earlier in this thread someone wrote an excellent letter of complaint to Nintendo, has there been any comment from them on this (if so then I missed it sorry)... what is so different about the UK and US that we have no Wii's yet other countries seem to be swimming in them? I assume it is a perception that as consumers those in the UK and US will pay whatever it takes at christmas to get what they want.
Last week the BBC did an article on the shortages, I hope the media pick on this - how cynical people (the ebay scamsters) and businesses (such as Dixons) can be during the so called season of goodwill.
The best advice I can offer and it's not ideal I know is to perhaps make up a voucher.... wrap that up for the kids.... especially from Father Christmas... and make a real day of it when suddenly a whole load of Wii's miraculously come out of the woodwork after Xmas. If you wait there is a chance more Wii's will become available before Xmas. In the meantime it is everyone's desperation to buy the console that is pushing up the prices.
....and if your kids are anything like mine they will end up with more presents from the rest of the family on Xmas day than they can possibly ever play with anyway.0 -
Ok so for all those people what brought from Dixons this morning, haven't you tried getting them to price match? They say they will!0

I just called Argos Customer Services and they said that they had 2 in Barking - didn't say which store but when I checked on the website they were not showing in stock. However, I think they will reserve them for you through the Customer Services no. on 0870 6003030 option 4. and ignore the "have your receipt ready" message and hang on to speak to somebody. Good luck if you live in Barking!

I wouldn't hold your breath but perhaps it's worth a try.
I suspect you'd have to find some-one selling exactly the same package for them to honour it.0 -

... and make a real day of it when suddenly a whole load of Wii's miraculously come out of the woodwork after Xmas.
This thread started January last year to search for Wiis, and carried on all year because they didn't miraculously appear after xmas, nor have they ever been abundant in the last 12 months. Theres no reason to expect that 2008 is going to be any different!!0 -
Dixons really are bar stewards dong that.....0

I imagine those getting phone calls from Viking have ordered more than 1?
They will question you as to what they are for, without a decent reason they will cancel the order as they are against ebay profiteering and dont act as a supplier for businesses.0
