Sorry but this is BULL. Told not to release them? So how come Dixons and Amazon are releasing them? Do you really think Nintendo have the power to tell the likes of DSG International not to sell until the first week in Dec?:rotfl:

    laugh all you like.
pick your phone up, phone them and then do the math.

Why would retailers hold back there stock till december when they can quite easily sell them now before there competetors get them on the shelves.
surely they dont want to be left with loads of stock after xmas when no one needs any cos they've bought from europe or elsewhere!

also why is the toys r us add in the paper advertising the console at £179 when there shops are only selling them in bundles starting at £250:confused:

pick up the phone, ring them and ask.
that is the only way you will get the definative answer! :rotfl:

So they have 130 games being released in the next 5 months, but if Nintendo have lost sales to the 360/playstation3, then there will be less buyers!

Good ploy by retailers to say that they have them in their warehouses, but I have spoken to 2 buyers for some large retailers and they have said they do not know when they are getting them, as there is a shortage. So yes there may be some about but nowhere near enough to satisfy demand.

it's all well and good to sit pontificating but I can only report what i have been told. i have a friend who is one of the buyers at woolworths. i have only reported what she has told me in that instance. i have given phone numbers relating to the other retailers i have spoken to, so you can please feel free to check out what i have reported.

we also know for a fact, as was reported earlier today on this very thread, that nintendo gmbh have prevented amazon.de from selling any more wii's to the uk market.

this thread is getting somewhat disjointed by people trying to claim more "insider knowledge" than others. I suggest we all remember that we should only post what we know, and if we know where the wii stocks are, then post them for people to get one who need them.

just as a side note, If I have anything on my ebay listings that anyone would like to know the source of, I have no problems in sharing where I get my stuff from.
Happy buying, moaning, bidding, and ultimately, Happy Christmas. :A

Didn't see the Sun ad but I only want to buy the console/sports not cack games to boot!!!! Option is to sell on games I know but can't be bothered, loosing the will to shop now!

I hate the idea of having to buy a bundle that has a game that your child/hubby/dog will not be intested in.

Lets start a "basic bundle only" campaign......

No? I didn't think anyone would want to.....gimmie a Wii, I'm a desperate woman!

  • to be honest, from what I can tell the toys r us bundle "mega entertainment pack" at just short of £250 isn't that much of a bad deal.
the carnival games is a cracking little game, lots of fun for all the family. i don't know anyone who has ratatouille or surfs up game, but they are both aimed at the family market, and £250 for the wii and 3 extra games, on top of sport, plus the accessories pack is a good buy.
even if you didn't want those particular games, you could maybe swap them with friends, or maybe sell them and swap them that way?
if you want the basic bundle, amazon keep having the odd 1 in, but from what i have seen over the past week or so, the majority of the sales are bundles. they make more money for the retailers.

    someone earlier suggested www.ebay.de ?

I now believe that most of toysrus stores are getting a delivery tonight to be sold in the morning as I was in my local one this morning and they said they were getting a delivery. Not desperate enough to queue for one, went through all that with the furbys, never again. Karen
