    It shouldn't :-
    1. This Warranty shall not apply:
      1. If a compliance label has been removed from the Wii™ or a serial number or other details have been removed or rendered illegible.
      2. If the Wii™ is connected to any voltage other than shown on the compliance label or unapproved and unlicensed products are used with the Wii™.
      3. If the Wii™ has been subjected to misuse, abuse, accident or want of care.
      4. If the Wii™ has been modified and/or tampered with.
      5. If a repair has been made or attempted to the Wii™ by the purchaser or their agent.
      6. If the Wii™ fails due to causes unrelated to defective materials, workmanship or manufacturing.
      7. If the Wii™ is not used at all times in accordance with the Wii™ Operations Manual or other documentation provided by Nintendo.
    None of the above apply, so warranty should still apply, warranty only specifies modification of the Wii, not the ancillaries.

    If the wii has been modified and/or tampered with.
    i think you would find that changing the plug would mean it had been modified from the original sale product. therefore, point 4 would invalidate the warranty if you changed the plug. The wii would not work without power supply, therefore the plug can't really be seen as an ancillary. its an integral part of the unit.

    Sorry, don't think that would hold. For ANY electrical item you might change a plug - for instance on hi-fi/consoles you might change one to use a multiblock power adaptor, or on anything at all if you damaged the original plug, neither of which should invalidate the warranty... German and UK consoles have exactly the same voltage requirement (because they ARE the same console) so changing the plug over should cause you no warranty issues.

    IMHO, of course :rolleyes:

    Just returned (last night) from a business trip from Paris; and lo and behold a pile of Wii consoles in the Virgin shop in Terminal 2B of Charles de Gaulle - so we are now the proud owner of one of them! (Terminal 2B is where BA fly from, not sure about the terminals).

    Having spent all yesterday morning trying to order from Germany without reading this thread first :mad: I thought you might to read this email I got back from them when I complained;

    I am about to reply that I think they are breaking the european treaty - and that I will contact my euro MP - let see that happens!

    And if anyone is struggling with the language, like I was? Try opening another window and using the google translate tool. You can't always translate full pages - but using copy and paste you can do whole blocks of text.

    Has anyone else gone down the complaints route?
  • I received my wii from amazon.de yesterday morning. Wonder why they are chopping and changing their policy. :confused:
