in order to attempt a purchase from the amazon.de site, would i have to sign up to amazon.de or can i use my current .co.uk username and password.

you sign in as you would from uk amazon- there is an excellent run through earlier in the thread with full instructions how to do it.

1. Click the link above.
2. Click the button "In den Einkaufswagen" (add to basket)
3. On the next page, click on the button "Zur kasse gehen" (proceed to checkout)
4. On the next page, log-in with the same log-in/password from amazon.co.uk (select "Ich bin bereits Kunde und mein Passwort ist:" and click on "Weiter")
5. From the address book, select your address by clicking on "An diese Adresse versenden" (send to this address)
6. On the next page, leave everything as it is (the credit/debit card information from your last purchase should be selected) and click on "Weiter"
7. Last page: you don't need to change anything here, just review the order and click on "Bestellung abschicken" (confirm order). There is only 1 delivery method available on this page, so you don't need to change anything. Delivery cost is 6 EUR for most EU countries, including the UK.
8. Sit down and relax, it should take about 2 weeks for your item to arrive.

To convert my amazon.de wii plug to suit our english 3 pin sockets, I picked up a masterplug shaving adaptor plug for a reduced price of £1.00 in B&Q (Glasshoughton).

My understanding (as an employee of a manufacturing company) is that manufacturers are not legally required to honour a warranty, if you make "modifications" to the equipment without being a licenced repair center or licenced engineer. They may "choose" to honour it out of goodwill however - but I wouldn't want to risk it - would you?

What I mean is - if the wii you gave your kids for Christmas went faulty, and you'd cut off the plug to replace it with an old-style 3-pin plug (which you unscrew to wire in the cable - the UK version would have been shipped with a moulded plug as legally required in this country) - would you like to have to explain it to your kids as to why Nintendo might not replace their present? Would you rather the small expense of an adapter, or the larger expense of a replacement console if Nintendo didn't replace it for you because of what they would see as a modification?

Personally, I would check with Nintendo Customer Services before I would make such a modification, and make sure that I had it in writing (if possible) that the warranty would still be honoured.

Is this a definite delivery date because I would like to order one.Im a bit wary as I did order from another site that said delivery in 18 days now that has changed to 64 days.I dont want to pay then Komplett change their delivery date too

ordered monday from amazon.fr. arrived thursday. all in £185.75.

great! thanks everyone for the suggestions. any ideas for getting hold of a wii play at a not especially exhorbitant price would be very much appreciated. it is my brother's birthday on sunday and I am desperately trying to get hold of one for him by then!!!
