I reckon they just moved them there to avoid sending to the UK....

I can only guess they'd rather sell them to their countrymen than export them over here !!! Unless nintendo have been hassling them about selling to another country - these video game people tend not to like that...[/quote]

I don't think they are in the market place either. They are listed in there but if you look it indicates they will be available in 1 to 2 weeks. It appears to me they are currently out of stock.

Supplies everywhere have dried up completely & I suspect the panic buying will begin this weekend when people realise they cannot even buy them from Germany OR France anymore.

Time for the Ebay sellers to put their crash helmets on !

Its has nothing to do with that, Market place is not amazon selling them, it's independent people like on ebay. Marketplace people do not ship outside their county usually, it's up to the individual sellers choice in the marketpleace.

36,701 Wii's sold last week in the UK.

Also look at the German and French totals which their respective amazon sales should be included from UK buyers too.

That is alot of consoles in a week, as mentioned above, I expect ebays prices to go higher and higher, currently around £260 mark for the basic £179.99 package on ebay, last year I remember ones going for £340+.

Good luck finding one if your still looking.

Amazon.de has stock, but they are not sending to UK addresses, although their dispatch policy says they will send to Great Britain.

Does this not go against EU Free trade rules?

Which website were they on sale on?
  • I spotted someone with over 100 Nintendo Wiis in their estate car in Calais this week - the car owner had spent over 20k on them importing them to the UK from Germany. For any enterprising person, it would be worth a journey over there for a few Ks in profit to sell them on to MSEers over here.
