;6760060]Thanks for answering a question !!!!

I did wonder since dont France use SECAM for their TV ???
The french generally only use SECAM in broadcast TV. They pretty much use PAL elsewhere, it was a system to protect french jobs and them Thompson moved a lot of productin out, negating the whole point of SECAM.
• I've just been on there and it says - 'despatched upon receipt from supplier'

I was a bit nervous to order one because I'm not sure if this another site where you can order but they may not get them in for 20weeks, like Littlewoods.com?

I ordered the one with Wii, Big Brain, Zelda and Mario Paper (Which is now showing as out of stock. In my order status it already says order is being picked, When i ordered it it said in stock, it didnt say what the others say about being dispatched from upon receipt from the suplier.

If worst come to the worst I can just cancel it before dispatch.

I wouldnt be too worried, have used power play lots and theyre pretty good, and they dont take your money until dispatch.

ALL the others i'm looking on there say in stock dispatched within 24hrs
• OK. Before anyone has a go at me - I have tried to find an answer in this thread but...

Wii - from France. Work in the UK? Language of manuals?
Wii Play - from France. Work on a UK machine? Language of manuals?

Hi m8 I have just ordered 2 of each from amazon.fr and the answers to your questions are.

1. Yes its exactly the same machine. Only difference is the plug you need an adaptor. Cost £1

2. Yes it will work

The manuals come with multi languages so english Yes. ;-)

Not always. Nintendo do different manuals in different places, the spine of the game shows the language (the coloured triangle in the corner) on the manual and disk and ther are I think 45 combinations they have done. Many games are multi langage, so you select english and all is well, SOME are not (WII Sports and Wii Play ARE multi language)

Some countries will not recieve english version' s of the manuals, it depends how big the estimated base is, if it's large they'll supply in local language, if it's not so big they get english.

That said most nintendo games start with tutorial levels that show you what to do anyway.

All Euopeans Wii's should do.

Japanese Wii DO NOT come with Wii Sports, US Wi's DO have it, but they are different region to Euro wii's.

What's not clear is whilst the Wii supports regional coding it may or omay not be implemented on all games.
• I have just had a thought, does anyone know if we will be charged extra duty on the wii's from amazon.de, as £175 in value would normally be liable to import tax, i had a watch from Japan that cost me £65 that had import tax slapped on it.

my amazon.de order says something about dispatch by German post office, no mention of DHL, does that sound right?

panic over, arrived via DHL today (ordered Sunday), bought a Euro plug adapter from Maplin for £3, now it's just the same as the UK one I bought for my son previously, everything's in English (+ other languages), easy set up, wii sports exactly the same (apart from in a card folder not a proper game case). Highly recommend amazon.de, and thanks for all the advice on here!:j
