  • read further down the page....it says

"Unfortunately due a global shortage of Nintendo Wii's it is unlikey that we will be able to fulfil any new orders in time for Christmas. Due to this inconvenience, we have now reduced our Wii consoles bundles by £15"

Yes but as i said you need to check stock, i didnt just willy nilly post this, i waited till the source ordered theirs and had order confirmed. I've had mine confirmed and when i ordered it in my basket it said 'in-stock'.

I was in Berlin this weekend, found a big pile of Wiis (at least 30) on display for EUR249 waiting to be bought up.
I didn't buy one but got a Wii Play for EUR47, they had about 20 on the shelf, they had dust on them!
Also noticed a couple of Wii ads on Telly there.
So they're not quite flying out of the shops in Germany by the look of it.

ANDYROO, its not a whiney little comment at all and your "rant" (dont want to quote it or god forbid people will have even more to read) was spot on.
We have not had one constructive comment from anybody as to why you SHOULD NOT buy from Amazon.de. If anybody out there who is "desperate" , "panicking" , "little johnny will be so upset" etc etc would like to post a reason as to NOT to buy from amazon.de then I would love to hear it.
This thread should now be full of comments from people happy at being able to have found a WII, which is what this whole thread was started for.

Im gonna buy 2 from the German Amazon site this afternoon but have one question. As both are for presents, if sods law prevails and its a duplicate gift do they have a good returns policy? Not used Amazon english site before so have no idea and dont think the info is in this thread. Thanks all.

I know this is not the answer you are looking for but why dont you just sell it. Somebody will buy it, and surely you would know or could find out if it was a duplicate before xmas, its not exactly a pair of socks!! or stick it on ebay and make yourself a few quid.

Ok, now I'm tempted to order from Germany.

Ordered from play.com (as a result of post - 30/10), order status showed 'processing' and then 'order taken'. 01/11 order status still showing 'order taken' so phoned and spoke with an advisor, to be told my order was on hold due to security authorisation on my card, he then asked me various security questions and told me that as the wii was on stock when I placed my order it had been allocated to me and would be despatched immediately for delivery within 4-5 days and that the system would update within 48hrs. Today status still shows 'order taken' so contacted them again to be told they have none in stock (obviously - as some greedy people placed orders for 7 consoles etc.) and my order wouldn't have been reserved (as I was informed) and the previous advisor I had spoken with must have been "confused". CONFUSED I'm bl**dy FURIOUS!!!!
Also, how can they say that they wouldn't have reserved one against my order but then tell me that as soon as they get some in they'll fulfil my order by means of a reservation?? Either they do reserve or don't!
I have however been assured that no money has/will be taken from my account until a despatch is made.

This is the german amazon's return policy (in English). Seems pretty comprehensive to me, though never having actually returned anything, i don't know how good they are in practise.
  • Does anyone know if the Wiis from Amazon.de come in English language ? Looking to buy a Wii play and just wondered if it was the same as in this country ?
