Very true, I'll be a nervous wreck as usual. Hopefully GS will 'get a grip' with team selection!
Anyway back to Wii's. Still waiting for my third email from Dixon's. Ordered on Saturday, anyone know how long this usually takes?0 -
1 - Toys r us in Chatham Kent
2 - 40
3 - Various bundles
4 - Saturday
This store has had them in every saturday for the past month, we had to queue from 5am to get ours, there were 100 + in the q by 9am so getting there early is essential. The staff come out at 8 nad run through the available packages (from £219 - £300) you then choose what you want and they give you a ticket....its first come, first served.
They know on Friday if they will have them for sure but as I said they have had them for the last 4 saturdays.
BTW...they are well worth the queuing!!! We were there at 5 and were (just) first in the queue and I dont regret it at all!!Wins since May 2007

As with all consoles there is always a work around. the only game I know of that is a bit tricky to use on an 'enhanced' machine is the new super mario game but again from what I have read the tech chipping guys n gals are already on that one and with chip updates has been dealt with.0 -

98 in stock on 30/11, mine is arriving tomorrow.
Eu model:T :T
I'll believe that when I see it...
Nicely inflated price too!0 -
If the warranty in the box says 2 years and you have proof of purchase, Nintendo have to honour the warranty.
So there you have it, another good reason for buying through Amazon.de. Now, this additional warranty must be worth something i.e Argos would probably charge you £25-£30 product replacement for additional year’s cover, so you are getting the console in time for X-mass, no countless hours spent searching on internet or going down to the shops, no need to brag about over inflated prices on E-bay and all this for £150-£155.0 -
As a newcomer who has managed to get a Wii from Amazon De from your advice could anyone advise which of the seemingly large range of extras/accessories are necessary and/or useful. Thanks0

Managed to order 1 from Dixons in the 4 mins they were in stock today. Got a confirmation email then another email an hour later saying sorry item not available! Have they actually got stock?? I was kind of expecting it cos it seems to be happening to lots of people ordering from Dixons, but they should not be taking orders for non existant stock. Presumably my card has been charged too and will need to be refunded.0

My OH is going to America next week, and thinking of buying Nintendo Wii whilst over there.
Two things really....
has anyone knowledge of prices and where to buy ?
& secondly... will it work here in UK ?....
It has only just occurred to me reading about Wiis that they are PAL based in UK, and therefore may not be compatible
Any advice please
Regards

I read the same question on a different forum today and it was answered by people raising issues with the different voltage in the US (you'd have to buy a step down transformer), the possibility of not being able to play UK/European discs without some modification to the console and that they can be just as difficult to find as they are here. Add to all that the chance of having to pay ye olde customs man when they return and it seems like just another set of reasons to order from Amazon.de or stick it out until you find one here."Whatever happened to string?"0
