  • Got mine from costco bristol today. just rang up on the off chance they had one and they did. got in the car quickly and off I went.
Worth calling every now and then if you are a costco member.
  • Haven't used it myself but my brother, who doesn't have a word of German, ordered from that site yesterday. He useda translation site running in a window alongside it. He managed it fine so can't be bad. I think babel fish is a translation site?

    I'll post this again

    1. Click the link above.
    2. Click the button "In den Einkaufswagen" (add to basket)
    3. On the next page, click on the button "Zur kasse gehen" (proceed to checkout)
    4. On the next page, log-in with the same log-in/password from amazon.co.uk (select "Ich bin bereits Kunde und mein Passwort ist:" and click on "Weiter")
    5. From the address book, select your address by clicking on "An diese Adresse versenden" (send to this address)
    6. On the next page, leave everything as it is (the credit/debit card information from your last purchase should be selected) and click on "Weiter"
    7. Last page: you don't need to change anything here, just review the order and click on "Bestellung abschicken" (confirm order). There is only 1 delivery method available on this page, so you don't need to change anything. Delivery cost is 6 EUR for most EU countries, including the UK.
    8. Sit down and relax, it should take about 2 weeks for your item to arrive.

Also a friend in Dundee put her name on the list at GAMESTATION and recieved a call within two days to collect. Hope this is of some help to someone, we got ours last christmas and it is honestly the best games console we have owned.:D

  • I managed to get myself one from morrisons about a month ago but my mother & father in law were so impressed with it they decided they wanted one. I managed to reserve one at argos on thursday and collected it on friday no problem at all. The method I used which may be of use to some of you was I looked at the reservations for sale on eBay, I chose one near to me and waited until close of business at that argos, the auction had finished and no-one had won it so I guessed that the item would be put back into stock by argos, so I went to reserve it on the argos website but it was showing as out of stock, all I did was keep refreshing it. The store I was looking at closed at 8pm and I managed to reserve one at about 8.20pm. I'm not sure if this method will always work, but it seemed to for me so may well be worth a try to stop all those people selling reservations on eBay!
  • :T I got a Wii at HMV Fort Kinnaird Edinburgh today. There was a queue at toysrus and was told they were in packages at £279, they had 33 but had sold out very early before opening, bizarre, some people were queueing from 10pm. Another pressie scored off my list.

Before ordering from amazon.de, bear the following in mind:

    1) Check that your credit card company won't charge extra for using the card abroad (as the transaction is processed in Euros from Germany)

    2) You will not get the same statutory guarantees (Distance Selling Regulations or Sales of Goods Act) as you would if you bought from the UK

    3) Would the Nintendo 12 month guarantee be valid in the UK, when purchased from Germany, with a German receipt? I don't know the answer to this one!!!

    Any other drawbacks???

They work in the UK fine. You will need a 2 pin to 3 pin plug converter but apart from the plug their the same as Wii's sold in the UK.

  • PCWorld are listing Wii's in stock, but I work for DSGi (Dixons Stores Group international) at the national distribution centre in Newark and I can tell you we have none in there at the moment so where PCWorld can't have any unless there's a store somewhere with one left??
