I'd like to lend my support to the Amazon.de campaign.

After weeks of stress, refreshing wii-consoles.co.uk, and doing a stock search at every (so it seemed) Argos store in North West England, I came across a user forum about the fatherland.

Ordered Sunday evening, arrived Wednesday morning. Absolutely superb service, and, dare I say it, probably just as quick delivery as Amazon UK.
Total including delivery worked out at £181.

Save yourself all the stress people

    Still in stock now!

    Vielen Dank

Well done glad to see somebody taking advice.
I honestly think that the majority of you actually like "the hunt".
All you "desperate from Tunbridge Wells" people you have been told numerous times on this thread how easy it is to get one from Amazon.de and for £181 which is cheaper than most of the places you are looking to buy one from and certainly miles cheaper than ebay, and just over £3 on Ebay for the plug or around a fiver from B&Q, Maplins, Etc

Come on if you are that desperate get it ordered!!

(note to Amazon, please send cheques to ..........);)
  • Just to add to the general amazon.de thread, I ordered mine on 30th October got an expected delivery range between 1-9th November and it arrived on the 1st from DHL. The german site even has an option to view the help in English if your are a 'non german speaker' (It's down the bottom somewhere on the left hand side).
I even tracked my package through www.dhl.com saying i was from germany and putting in my parcel number and 'international' (DHL german page also has an english translation).
Excellent service, no stress, three cheers for German efficiency.

Wilkinsons had some WIIs in stock for a few minutes at the bargain price of £169.99 , I was bit too slow going through the checkout process and they were sold out by the time I got to the last screen.

It has already been said many times in this thread if you buy the Wii from Amazon France or Germany the console is set to english as default. The manual also has english.

Thanks for the helpful information nickp, but I was actually asking if the games were in German, not the console

I don't speak French but it seems they are available on Amazon.fr. Haven't read all the posts here so don't bite my head off if this has already been mentioned.

My order from Amazon is already on its way with Parcelforce.

And it is now at home - just 20 hours after ordering. Not bad service from Amazon UK at all (especially for only £2 delivery).

Hi everyone, I'm desperate to find a Wii - my son got hit by a car last week Tue (he is currently stable but critical) and we are currently living at Addensbrookes Hospital in Cambridge (they have a paedeatric intensive care unit here) anyway - our friends have been wonderful as they taken in our other 2 children and the running of our house etc (which is an hour away). We would dearly like to get them a Wii as we know if we try to re-imburse them otherwise it would be rejected. Their family has been dragged into our tragedy and we think their kids would love this - hence why we are looking - so if someone comes accross one, please let us know.

    Thanks
    Lizzy
