I'd like to lend my support to the Amazon.de campaign.

After weeks of stress, refreshing wii-consoles.co.uk, and doing a stock search at every (so it seemed) Argos store in North West England, I came across a user forum about the fatherland.

Ordered Sunday evening, arrived Wednesday morning. Absolutely superb service, and, dare I say it, probably just as quick delivery as Amazon UK.
Total including delivery worked out at £181.

We bought a Wii last week in the Game store in Reading. It was the last one though. Gamestation in Reading had just had some in stock also.

I was one of the people who ordered from tesco weeks ago but it's been delayed twice. However in our local new toyshop which has just opened in Salisbury they have quite a few left. I spoke to the manager and he thinks the buyer bought loads at the beginning of the year and this is why they haven't run out - yet!!!! So anyone in this area - nip to Smyths. I got the console and 2 games (which you can choose), 2 £5 vouchers for future purchases and a loyalty card for future discount for £224.99 which I was happy with.

I got a Wii within a couple of days of deciding we wanted one - instore in Sainsburys. I'm wondering about buying Wii Play from amazon.de. Has anyone had any experience of this? Presumably it is compatible? I don't speak any German - are there any essential instructions in German only or anything like that?

Now this could be a stupid question, but . . if I order a Wii and games from Amazon.de will the onscreen text of the games be in german?
You can probably tell, I'm not a gamer and this is for my son for Christmas

It has already been said many times in this thread if you buy the Wii from Amazon France or Germany the console is set to english as default. The manual also has english.
