I see that lots of Argos codes are now for sale on ebay.Kinda goes against the grain paying for a code but having said that there is a £10 Voucher at Argos now thats being given with them so kind of offsets the cost of buying the code.

Assuming that is that when you get to the store with your reservation number you find that the reservation hadn't been canceled.

Happened to me last week - Reservations do not guarantee product, it's in their t&c.

Can't imagine why you'd risk ebaying the reservation codes - The buyer can turn it around on the seller and say the code was canceled and demand a refund. Hows the code seller going to prove/disprove the buyer didn't pick up the console?

Milton Keynes Argos 'just' had some went to reserve one and it was out of stock again.

Oh well....might wait til after Christmas as its only for me!! I'm only prepared to pay the normal cost and won't be buying any codes off ebay.
  • Unfortunately too far for me to go, but Newark on Trent Argos are showing stock for reservation if that helps anyone.

Now showing as out of stock. (11.30am)

Rather bizarrely, showing as back in stock again (11.32am)

  • Hi,

I have spare codes for Bradford Kirkgate Centre & Epsom. Valid until close of business Thursday 25th.

    It's for the basic package @ £179.97.

    PM if interested.

    Regards,
    Bob

    EDIT: Both codes gone now.

I have just ordered both from virgin with free delivery http://www.virginmegastores.co.uk/product/751273/Wii_Play_And_Wireless_Remote/s.jsf the wireless remote comes with wii play which you could always sell if you didn't want to keep it or possibly exchange it in gamestation or where ever you exchange / get cash for games.

I used a discount code http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=6646336#post6646336 and I went through www.freefivers.co.uk to get 2.5% cash back, in total it was £37.80, that is without cash back

I collected the 2 I had reserved from the Taunton branch of Virgin Megastore. They were a package for £220 - 240 with 2 games from the latest stand. I also bought 2 games on a BOGOF range which was OK. The next expected ones in Taunton Virgin is November. It does pay to pre-order with a deposit; mine were £100 each. Manager didn't like having to hold them for 4 days though till I could get into the store to collect. Good Luck everyone!
