I LOVE THE POUND STORES!!! seriously though they are great for virtually everything, the garden stuff is really good, I got some cuprinol (or similar, deffo a brand name) fence paint for £1 (obviously) so I love them and get rolled eyes when I insist on going to them, dp is really fed up but saves us money so he can't really complain.

One thing the 99p and poundland do have plenty of... is L-O-N-G queues at the checkouts :(

another thing, I asked in my local 99p store about a product they had advertised on a huge poster (Cillit bang), i asked where it was, and no-one in the store could understand what I was saying... (Or any other word of english for that matter)

about the L-O-N-G Queues, have you ever been to poundland in meadowhall??? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • I hate the Poundland In Solihull. I went In there few months back to purchase some 'silly string' - the women on the till looked at me up and down checking out how old I was!! (How on earth can they restrict the sale of Silly String..Im 18!!!)

Anyhow, the guy on the till shouted across the entire store 'HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO PURCHASE SILLY STRING' to his staff member - Infront of the cue.

The 99p store In Birmingham Town Centre Is fab - They had a full crate of 500ml Tangos (24) for just 99p.

We have a Poundland and a 99p shop in Reading,I go in both, but for me the 99p is a much better shop, and the staff in there are all Indians, but ever so friendly .
They caught a guy in there trying to steal a toy <99p>.I wanted to pay for the toy for him myself but didnt want to get involved .

I go to those two as well imho.

In the Poundland they gave my son a free chocolate at the tills.

Re bargains, got Abi Titmuss - Tone and Tease Dvd for £1 (£12.09 at Amazon).

silly string has propellant gas, which can be abused, so they are right to query it, IMHO
