I went into Poundland yesterday and I couldn't find any decent bargains.
There are a load of good videos but I don't even have video machine anymore LOL
Mind you I should have picked up some blank DVDs as they did have loads of them all over the shop for a change.

another thing, I asked in my local 99p store about a product they had advertised on a huge poster (Cillit bang), i asked where it was, and no-one in the store could understand what I was saying... (Or any other word of english for that matter)

about the L-O-N-G Queues, have you ever been to poundland in meadowhall??? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
YES!!!...My God- their queues are gigantic!! I went with my 10 year old Daughter, bought bags of stuff and then realised they dont take switch....Guy told me there was a cash machine 1 minute away and sent me off to get money. Usual Xmas queue at cash machine etc...etc... Got back about 10 minutes later, to realise to my horror that he had actually waited for me rather than serve anyone else!!!! I was mortified!!! Thought I was going to get lynched by the HUGE queue.......nightmare!

A checkout "person" in the poundland in Barking served my 10yo daughter and chucked a carrier bag in her general direction.

I said that we didn't need a bag, and she replied "you have it now"!!

One thing the 99p and poundland do have plenty of... is L-O-N-G queues at the checkouts :(

A couple of years ago I had a slight exchange with the charming "Manager" in my local Poundland.

I had earlier bought about £20 worth of stuff. Didn't get a receipt. One of the things I bought was faulty so I took it back hoping to have it changed (I was a bit strapped for cash back then). She basically accused me, in front of customers and staff, that I was trying to diddle them out of a pound!!!

When I disagreed she hollered at me "don't give me your attitude!"

Needless to say I have never given the place my custom again.

How on earth do these people get jobs with that sort of customer service "skill" I'll never know.
  • It does make you wonder what some of the normal price stores make on this stuff when poundland and the 99p store can afford to have sales...

Im new here and so far I reckon I have spent 3 quid and filled my boot!!

    This is great stuff

That's money saving, at least you were having the benefit of them paying for the heating and lighting!
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.
