Cheapest returns I could find were over £500 / person.
Cheapest way from London was from Luton to Dalaman with Monarch http://www.monarch.co.uk/flights Mon 15th Aug for £125.49 and to return to Stanstead with Pegasus Airlines booked through Opodo http://www.opodo.co.uk/opodo/flights/search?reset=true&numberOfChildren=0&departureTime=ANY&arrivalAirportCode=STN&numberOfAdults=1&numberOfInfants=0&departureAirportCode=DLM&returnMonth=201108&airlineName=&searchLowCost=true&popupAirlineCode=&airlineFromSelectBox=true&departureMonth=201108&tripType=O&cabinType=E&returnTime=ANY&popupAirlineName=&departureDay=30&returnDay=30&TRAVELLER_TYPE_1=ADT&HAS_INFANT_1=FALSE&CMP=uk-sky-fl-cpa-sr on Tues 30th for £194.30 but this is not direct and has a 13 hour wait in Istanbul which may not be ideal with children although you may be able to leave the airport and see some of Istanbul.
The total return flight cost would be £320 / person this way

Will the remaining Onur Air flights for the season be put on sale to others?

It is up to other tour operators whether they wish to charter seats from Onur or any replacement.

Flight only prices going in next 14 days vary between £250 and £900! You could search online (but in the current climate might be better to use a reliable travel agency from a well-established company - Holidays4U is not the only shaky operator this Summer)
  • Hi

I purchased a tailor made holiday (flights, accommodation & transfers) through Travel Republic. Got an email last night saying flights were cancelled as they had booked them through Holidays4U but my hotel & transfer still stands. Called them and they referred me to CAA website and were very unhelpful.

I have now booked new flights which were much more expensive and am looking to get a refund back for my original flights but no sure if I can claim through ATOL or because I purchased them using MyCashPlus pre paid credit card do I try claim it back through them?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had booked this way and also found the help line at travel rebublic very unhelpful but after researching charge back after watching Simon whatshis name on the bbc news i tried a different tack.
I went on to Manage my booking and cancelled the accommodation and the transfers, i have just had confirmation that the cancellations have been accepted and the hotel and transfer company have refunded full cost of both minus the credit card fee which will be in my account in 3-5 days.

I paid for my holiday in my visa debit card with the halifax and they told me this morning the charge back should be processed in about 2 - 3 weeks after receiving the paperwork and they will then make the claim with the administrator for me.

So fingers crossed no one is lying to me and it goes as advised.

You can only claim on a credit card (I believe) if you paid directly to Holidays4U/Aegean Flights. Otherwise I think you need to claim through ATOL. The claim form is HERE: http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/1052/20110803Holidays4UClaimForm.pdf

Also if you used a pre-paid credit card you would not be covered by section 75 as there is no credit involved in the transaction.

I phoned my credit card people who referred me to the CAA, I downloaded
a claim form from the CAA which stated that if flights were paid by credit card then claims have to be through the credit card under Section 75 of the consumer protection act. I got back onto my credit card people and explained, I was put on hold while superiors were consulted and then informed that "a dispute has been launched". A bit annoyed at having paid extra for ATOL protection which did not exist but there are others in a far worse situation than myself.
  • We arrived at Manchester airport to fly with this company last night at 9,00pm only to be told when we arrived at the airport to be told that they had gone into administration. We were devastated. As a family who only take their annual holiday in term time we have trawled the internet and every local travel agent through the night and this morning for an alternative. We have completed the forms for the CAA (which you can download and print on line) and realise that this could be a lengthy process. The most annoying thing is that we had not been called from the travel agent we booked with and the airport had received a fax at 1.35pm to let them know! we are still trying to find an alternative and the accomodation is not a problems its the flights. They have doubled and tripled in price. This is cashing in on other peoples misfortunes.
