I got my tesco vouchers £215. I am a xmas saver, which means I only get my vouchers at xmas. I wanted to double up to buy some pjs. My vouchers came in 4 x £50 1x £8 1x£7.
I COULD NOT DOUBLE UP £10 BECAUSE THE REMAINING £40 WOULD HAVE TO GO BACK ON MY ACCOUNT WHICH I WOULD NOT GET UNTILL NEXT XMAS. I PHONED TESCO AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING COULD BE DONE UNLESS I OPT OUT OF XMAS SAVER. EVEN THEN I STILL DONT GET THE REST OF MY VOUCHER UNTIL FEB 2012. I JUST CANT BELIEVE IT

I thought that was the whole idea of Xmas saver - to stop you spending on anything else but Xmas...

What was wrong with the £8&£7?

Just opt out and get them every quarter and then have the option what do you want to do with them at any point.

??? You do know you can opt out???
You actualy are out, unless you choose specificaly to opt in!!
Don't go for a scheme that you think it is a good idea (ie stopping you spending at any time during the year etc) and then get cross when it doesn't suit you.

Seriously man, opt out and it's sorted! (well, for future anyway)

If you double up online can't you add double ups and other rewards up to the total of your vouchers? (i.e you have £12 in vouchers so order 2 toys vouchers for £10 and a pizza express £2, total is £12) and you put your voucher codes in at rewards checkout? If desperate not to leave points on the account?
  • The forum email quotes that the e-voucher conversion from Tesco has a six month validity.

Just checked my account at RSH and my e-vouchers run to the end of 2020 !
  • I wanted to book a trip to Disneyland Paris for myself, my wife and two children, who will be 7 and 2. On the Disneyland website the price on 3rd Feb 2012 for 2 nights is £250.80 (still there today). However, I noted Tesco were starting to offer clubcard rewards in exchange for vouchers up to the value of £180. When we called Disney, they offered us the same deal for £418!! Making £180 of clubcard vouchers effectively worth £12. When we complained, we were told he knew nothing of the other program. I sent an email to Disneyland Paris to complain and got an email back stating We kindly inform you that currently we are unable to reply to this query via email, however, we can be contacted directly via telephone on 08448 008 898 (national call rate).
I thought you should be warned how you can be ripped off by two trusted names.

Just to back you up here Swissy - I rang RSH this morning and the lady gave me a 100% guarantee that any Tesco rewards are valid until 2020, not 6 months as claimed on the MSE email I received today. So anybody wanting to exchange Tesco vouchers into RSH for forward train tickets can do so knowing they have 9 years in which to use them! :D She admitted that she has no idea why Tesco are claiming 6 months on their website.

I now have a total of £116 in RSH - very handy for trips out next year.

I did ask if she was aware of Tesco's reducing RSH for X3 to X2 and she said she had no idea but that approximately 90% of RSH's customers are on the Tesco scheme - therein may lie the answer in that X3 is, in Tesco's eye's, a large amount to transfer and therefore they are reducing it to X2. I am guessing that the RSH exchange may be immensely popular with Tesco customers.

The article says Redspottedhanky has a £1 delivery fee but this appears to be incorrect because they say on their website front page -

and I have never been charged for 1st class delivery on the site.

I rang to check. There is no charge for postage, nor for use of ticket machines. Also the ecoupons credited to RSH account remain valid until 2020, NOT just 6 months as stated in MSE newsletter. It's great value and just wish I hadn't used £25 vouchers in Voucher Exchange a week ago before I knew Tesco were devaluing this reward.
  • Was a bit disappointed, never done the in store exchange before, the restrictions were, well rather restricting lol. Changed up my vouchers for the category of toiletries, skincare etc and headed off to get some box sets for christmas presents, and all excluded. Fair enough I thought, but to try and use them for my regular 'monthly shop' the exclusions meant that vouchers were still unusable and such a short expiration date on them. I have leant that a lot more planning is required before committing myself to one of these vouchers! I shall be compiling my shopping list online beforehand and triple checking that the items are not excluded to use these up, and may not have the time and energy required to get any future ones!

A recent MSE item about the Redspotted Hanky eVouchers from Tesco says "exchange now as the vouchers last 6 months" as they are shortly falling from 3x to 2x value.

However, my eVouchers are dated to expire at the end of 2020!

I agree that t&cs on the Tesco pages say "redspottedhanky.com e-vouchers are valid for 6 months from registration."

So... I am currently exchanging £5 to see what expiry date comes up!

NOTE also that I was able to spend my eVouchers on the Southern Rail web site, which appears to be, um, basically the same thing.
