  • Does anyone know what happens to your change after you've bought tickets on RedSpottedHanky?

For example if I changed £10 of tesco vouchers to £30 of RedSpottedHanky vouchers, and then spent £4.50 on the RSH website would I be left with £25.50 to spend later?

Or are they like the restaurant vouchers where I'd have to use a £10 voucher, waste the £5.50 and be left with £20?

On the Tesco Rewards page it says

**Websites shown are for information only - rewards tokens cannot be used for internet bookings and are not valid on prices shown on the internet. ***

so does that mean when you ring to book the prices quoted are inflated above the website prices?

Anyone had the chance to compare prices when they booked?
I have booked twice with Eurotunnel and on both occasions the price they quoted when ringing the Tesco Eurotunnel club card number was exactly the same as the online price.

I too have searched online for the cheapest price ( usually early morning or late at night) to take the caravan and car... Weve stopped at services this side then just hopped on in the morning or stopped overnight when we got back, or stayed in a travelodge on the M20. You can find a price online, then they will hold it for you while you post them your vouchers and form but make sure you have your vouchers in hand before you ring... they wont wait while tesco send them out then you post them to eurotunnel. If theres been a balance to pay Ive just paid by card when Ive booked

Best of all weve not been absolutely 'bound' by the time stated. So long as there is space they will put you on so if you miss your crossing by a little or are a little early, dont worry, check in and they will advise you what to do. ( note I think theres only so much leeway with this, turn up hours early or late and you may need to pay)

I have been using RedSpottedHanky for just a few weeks now and what you don't spend on tickets appears to stay in the account until you next use it (I don't think it expires but mine won't be in that long for me to find out). I exchanged £10 for £30 RSH e-Vouchers, spent £29.25 and was left with a balance of 75p. After that success I exchanged more tesco clubcard vouchers. :jI too am over the moon with this deal. I have so far booked 6 journeys this way and I hope that I shall be able to book many more.

If you want them delivered 1st class, I recommend that you book them more than 5 days in advance as it is not possible to have them delivered (incase they don't arrive in time.) I think you can have them sent Special Delivery but you have to pay for that. So I collected them from the Self Service Machine at the train station but you will need a Credit Card or Debit Card set up on your RSH account, to collect them (even though you didn't pay for them that way - you need to put your card in the self-service machine), plus the booking reference which they email to you. Hope that makes sense.
Oh & a big thumbs up for RedSpottedHanky & Tescos:money:.

  • We got about £150 face value vouchers that expired in August this year, tried calling Tesco a couple of times to see if they could reissue them and they said no only upto 2 years, seems unfair, anything we can do ? :(
  • what would happen if I doubled up and got £50 toys voucher, bought, for example, a bike for £50, and then returned it? Would I get a giftcard for the full value?
  • Oh my word, just come off the phone from tescos for the second time in six weeks. Still waiting for club cards that were promised two months ago. No viable explanation for the delay. Where is the incentive for us to shop there now. Absolutely disgracefull. I bet the tescos that they are building in our town will be up and running before we get our cards. Any advice would be gratefully received :(
  • The problem with the double your tokens Christmas offer is that once you've selected your category and been sent your on-line vouchers, if the item you want is out of stock you can't convert your vouchers back to the original tokens, you just lose them.

Under normal circumstances if you use tokens to buy, for instance, restaurant vouchers, if you don't use them you can return them and get your Clubcard tokens back.

At the moment we're stuck with £60 of Toys and Bikes Christmas vouchers that we can't use because the item we want is out of stock, and there's nothing we can do about it. It was showing as in stock when we bought the vouchers but out of stock when we tried to buy it.

    Regards, Jim
  • On the subject of clubcard points. I have a clubcard plus account and have recently recieved an e-mail telling me that double points will still be given for spending on this card. That is not so as I have used this card on my last two visits and have not recieved double. I have contacted Tesco clubcard and have been passed to Tesco finance who then passed me back to clubcard. This took several hours to achieve nothing as no one knew the answer. Has anyone else had the same response and can anything be done about it?
  • Extra 100 points for taking a free eye test at Tesco Optician. This came through with my reminder that the test was due, so not sure if you get if as a first timer.
