Let the moaning minnies moan and let her enjoy her childhood.
This is so true. Your worries will really begin when she wants to start dressing like everyone else0 -

Op, you sound like a great mum to a very happy child, keep on keeping on!
Obviously the other mums are the type of people who fear anything outside of their very narrow definition of "the norm". Sadly there's many of those around and anyone with a mind of their own will have to deal with these ignorami and their unrequired, undesired opinions.
The fact that they're being catty about a child says it all. They're just idiots.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0 -
i sort of have this same problem, my little girl is 4, and is a very bonnie little girl (yes i am biased
) everyone is used to seeing her all pinked up, sparkly bags, hairgrips ect, and she also is princess mad!
anyhow, she went with her dad when the new football tops came out for this season, he bought his, she said she liked the colours so he bought her one too, now the looks i get when she wears it, (which is quite often, she chose it, she likes it and she'd wear it everyday if i let her) i've had other mums saying things like, fancy putting her in that, or poor little thing being forced to wear it, ect! WHATS THE BLOOMIN' HARM???? can a little girl not wear a footy top, admittedly, it's not a premier club, it's just our local team but even so, she doesnt hurt anyone by wearing it, other dads seem to smile and giver her the thumbs up but the mums ive come across, anyone would think i was dressing her in a meat dress, a la lady gaga
she's 4....she's happy, she's dressed cleanly and decently, end of!Skint, but happy (ish):p0 -
To a point I still dress like I would when I was child, I remember walking around once with my ever classic batman t-shirt on and as a passed a young lad and his dad and the boy said "DADDY!!! hes got a batman t-shirt!!!"
With that I bought a teenage mutant ninja turtles t-shirt the other day and when my mum asked why I bought it the reply was "because you never bought me one when I was a kid".
As you may guess I would let my kids wear what they want.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

OP You sounds like an awesome Mum with a little girl who is enjoying life, developing her own tastes and generally having a fabulous time, keep doing what you are doing- I love seeing little kids dressed up as cartoon characters/whatever they like, I think it's the sweetest thing- mainly because THOSE children always seem happy, smiley and confident:D
Ignore BI atches...they are just jealous that they can't wear lovely costumes, and so have become bitter and mean...come on the world could be such a fun place if we followed the kids' lead once in a while:D
MrsWoolfe...
P.S. My neices are both getting fairy wings for christmas this year- they are 3 ( not twins one is my neice and one DH's neice) and they will look wonderful! If you're afraid of the big bad Woolfe....beware of the Mrs!:rotfl:
