Parking fine in disabled bay

I have to say that this is probably the result of people mis-using things like this. I was going to my local Tesco a few days ago, lovely sunny day, saw a car with a disabled badge park up. A young couple jumped out and positively ran into Tesco! I know some disabilities are less visible, but surely if they were running then they were not entitled to the blue badge, or if they were the person that gives the entitlement was not with them at the time so they should not have been using it anyway!!!
On another note, can I please ask that blue badge holders do not use the mother and child parking spaces when there are disabled bays available. I have a friend who has three young children to get out of her car, but has to park up the far end of the car park next to a footpath to be able to open the door because the mother and child spaces are used up by people with no car seats in the car or (on this occasion) 5 cars with blue badges. We are not allowed to park in disabled bays, so please try to park there yourselves instead of taking up valuable mother and child spaces - try dealing with a pushchair, a 4 year old and a 5 year old in a normal space! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
The guy was doing his job so you cant exactly complain about him.0

But he can and he will because this little hitler didnt bother doing his job and looking inside the car. I mean come on its not like the instructions for displaying the blue badge dont say that it should be visible in the windscreen at all.one of the famous 5

There is problem with young people who don a uniform as such. I received a letter yesterday from those who decided I was in the wrong. It now has come to light that the Warden who placed the ticket on my screen acted too quickly. With the help of a few other posters on MSE the fine was overturned.
They agreed that the Warden acted too quickly, having seen the time wheel he should have given a spare moment to just take a look around the vehicle and not act on impulse.
My fine was overturned on the grounds that I am the holder of a Blue Badge which I was asked to photo copy and send as proof. I was also given a name of a shop where I could purchase a wallet type holder for both documents.
On another downer, my car air con will not work. En-rout to work yesterday no cold air came from it, I do believe it will need a top up of some gas? unsure as to how much this will cost.0 -
Jeff, i don't think he has been told to look around your car. The fact is you had a valid badge so you are ok. that is why you've been let off, nothing else.
Had a similar situation in Edinburgh, put the badge in the sunblind but a reciept was in front of the date. Warden gave me a ticket because he didn't know if the badge was valid or not. It was and the fine was recinded. No need for any name calling. If they'd up held the fine I couldn't have complained, the instructions are quite clear and it isn't the warden's job to make sure you actually follow them.
5t.
EDIT about £80 for an aircon re-gas.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

I have - for years ! This mother and baby parking is a recent addition to supermarkets. When my kids were young there was no such thing. We just parked, got out of the car, put baby in buggy, kids held onto each side of buggy and we walked into supermarket simple! I really don't see mother/baby spaces as a necessity. Disabled IS a necessity.0 -
I agree that disabled spaces iare a necessity, and I never had the problem when my kids were young as I do not drive, all I know is time and time again my friend cannot get parked in the spaces allocated to mother and child because they are used by other people that do not have children, including people that could occupy the relatively deserted disabled bays. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Disabled or not a little courtesy goes a long way if the tone of your post is anything to go by. It was your fault entirely that the badge was not displayed correctly, no one elses0

Meanwhile back in the real world
If the kids can walk let, no, make them I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
And if they can't? Plenty of people have twin buggies to deal with too - try getting those in a space between cars - or should it be left in the road (please consider the width in this case). What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
